-Bragging Rights
-Saying you work in the Music Biz
-Looks good on a resume
-Generally interesting business
-Industry leader
-Free tickets (although mostly for 3rd and 4th tier performers in generally mediocre seats)
-Decent health coverage (PPo plans at affordable rates)
-Compensation seems to competitive with market rates (especially for the entertainment industry which is notorious for low-balling their offers. People will accept alot of things to work in the Industry)Cons
Long hours
Non-existent communication and guidance, and when it does happen it invariably happens at quite literally the 11th hour.
Tons of analysis
Little or no training- You really have to be proactive in this area to learn what you need to learn. Be persistent, as there seems to be resistance and a general lack of motivation to help out new hires learn the systems and business.
Many layers of managment- It's unclear who you report to, which makes prioritizing duties difficult
Not the friendliest place to work
Be ready to be on call (a laptop and phone seem great at first, but it just means you are chained to the job)
The analysts and finance people are generally hard-working and diligent, while upper managment leaves something to be desired. There's no desire to mentor or train properly, and it is entirely up to the employee to investigate and learn the systems and procedures. While employees should absolutely be proactive and show initiative, the transition would be so much more efficient if proper training and mentoring were in place. Be ready to ask questions, and ask alot of them in the beginning while you are still a new employee because you certainly won't be trained on it.Advice to Senior Management
