    Pros

You'll learn a lot about what to watch out for in the "work-from-home" industry and be very familiar with all red flags for future searches.

    Cons

No direct communication. False Promises of available work (it's a lottery system where you pray for hours until you prove yourself, which you can't do unless you can click on the mystery floating availability block before everyone else in your position), poor description of program.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Consider brushing up on the idea of ethics and not promise hours or opportunities you cannot deliver.

    Pros

You can schedule your own hours and their call center is open 24 hours a day, the training is at your own pace and is not instructor led

    Cons

You are paid by your talk time 0.25 per minute, so IF you talk for a full hour you are paid 15.00 for that one hour. However, the call volume is terrible because they have so many people working, it is hard to get any hours and worst of all you are answering infomercial calls. Trying to constantly sell them more than they called in for, before you can even process the order you have to go through like 5 screens of upsells, with the customer getting angrier and angrier the more you try to sell them

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get some other clients, the upsells are annoying

    New CEO should help morale
    Work from home sometimes

    Cons

    Extreme workload
    No work life balance
Constant layoffs in areas that need it the most
New CEO can't fix what is broken

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Pros

the working culture was good and company promoted innovation. They had two times hackdays per year :) The technology management teams also picked up 1-2 projects of them and rolled them to the production.

    Cons

The base pay for the employees which joined the company a long time ago were too lower. The company needs to have a retention plan for employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It will be better to increase pay base.

I have been working at LiveOps full-time

    Pros

Friendly people, management are personable but very professional as well. Good life/work balance, but could give more vacation time. Company is taking on more customers rapidly, fast growth and new CRM products have been acquired. There are monthly 4 PM cocktail hours, World Cup viewing parties in the office. Occasional offsite events are fun as well. Office is in an attractive park-like setting with ponds, lots of lawns, trees, guys playing soccer. Quarterly bonuses.

    Cons

Some growing pains which are natural in this environment. Account managers are overloaded with work. A lot of documentation is obsolete. PTO is a bit skimpy.

I have been working at LiveOps as a contractor (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Make your own schedule; very flexible
If you're good, you can make great money
Work from home -- no commuting or having to shop for clothes for your work attire

    Cons

Communication can be poor. Seems to go in streaks. Management typically very supportive; however, you just don't get enough communication on the products that are coming out, the call volume, etc. and it leaves you guessing. This isn't good because if your question is about call volume or the apparent major change in management in the past couple years, while you are 'guessing' what's going on, your paycheck will take a huge hit because the call volume will have dropped so significantly, and you won't know if there will be any other great products to sell to increase your income. By this time, you probably have a foot out the door. They have lost some great people because of this.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

See info on "cons". In a nutshell, more communication. Think as if you were a licensed agent and not in a management role, and think "what is it that I would want?" That will help a lot. The other Key thing is call volume and types of calls. The job flexibility is great, but if you're a licensed insurance agent, it's about the money. You can't make money if call volume wanes so much you know you are going to starve in the summer, or at other times of the year that may be 'typically slow'. In the past 2 years, this 'trend' of call volume has become increasingly worse. As a licensed agent, most of us want challenge, and we want to make more than last week and last year. We are sales people and are driven. Money talks.
