    Pros

Fantastic company where you feel that you are making a difference every day in the role that you do.

Great environment to work in and some brilliantly talented people in the organisation.

    Cons

    Career progression is sometimes unclear.

    Terrible car park!

I worked at Liverpool Victoria part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Allowed be to be flexible. Started working here full time but when I started a university degree, they were happy to change my hours to suit the course and let me full time again during holidays. Gave a good grounding in office skills which I've taken with me to other jobs. Might not be a forever job but if looking for work as a student it pays better than bar or supermarket work.

    Cons

I worked in Life and Pensions and i quite enjoyed my interactions with the public (phone-based). Staff turn over and job satisfaction were much lower i the Motor and Household departments

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The right management and team leaders are key. Some are great and really want to get the best out of staff and ensure customers are satisfied. Others more concerned with call volume only which doesn't necessarily mean a happy customer.

I worked at Liverpool Victoria full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

    Location, office environment, hours and

    Cons

Zero (literally) training, this is the system, learn to use it! Failure of a system is passed down to support staff and development team not held accountable

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Consider sidestepping middle management (they do very little) and ask those further down what the problems are instead

I have been working at Liverpool Victoria full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Good opportunities to progress, excellent benefits package and access to senior management as the structure is fairly flat.

    Cons

No published pay scales so some staff earn more than their managers. They need to pay to keep staff & not scrimp when offering promotions. Too many 'operations' staff doing non-jobs.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give better rises when promoting from within rather than losing good staff & having to pay more to recruit externally

I have been working at Liverpool Victoria

    Pros

    Insurance discount
    Work with great people
Salary isn't too bad but you don't have work for it!

    Cons

You have to have a face that fits in to get promoted
Long hours and extra hours unpaid as a manager with no acknowledgement or recognition
Team leaders are paper pushers rather than there to develop your team

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to the staff that are on the front lines getting battered by calls as its demoralising and not good for customers having to wait. We need more bums on seats, you have got too big too fast and lost the heart part of Lv!

I worked at Liverpool Victoria part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Location, pension , discounts on products. Poor leadership from team leaders. Ok work life balance.

    Cons

People being groomed for promotion. No prospects for people over 35. Being penalised for working 30hrs Form of bullying from team leaders and higher management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop using the line "if you don't like it you can always leave. If you go quietly and do not make a fuss we will pay you to the end of the month. Make older employees feel valued and do not treat them as though they are senile
