    Pros

Work life balance, convenient office location.

    Cons

Salary is not competitive, high funding costs, glass ceiling, unless your manager is a female.

    Advice to Management

Value your employees and show respect.

It's a great Bank too bad they don't care about you when you have been working there for over 2 years. Line managers wk

    Pros

Great people and great governance from the UK.

    Cons

Line Managers are are awful they don't respect your opinion and threaten you with your job, high turn over rate in the Finance Dept!

    Advice to Management

Threatening your your employees with their jobs is wrong. Compensation is too low compared to the market- people stay because of UK Benefits as you do but no need to treat people with disrespect and scare them with balance scorecards, curse them at 1-1 meetings.

  3. Manage small accounts, assist RM in big accounts. Pretty much to the dirty work for the assigned RM.

    Pros

Young energetic crowd mainly. Flexible with time off.

    Cons

RM against RM all thinking they are IT. Front Office turnover, to much. Upper Management is always changing the rules.

    Advice to Management

Set the rules and stick to them, at least for more than a month!

    Pros

Up to 5 Weeks vacation. Excellent health benefits. Excellent work life balance - normal business hours. Despite merger, no layoffs in north america...yet.

    Cons

No cash bonus 2008. Company has been in a state of limbo for the past 9 months post merger. No new business during past 12 months. No clear message on what the business plan is going forward. Employee morale is low.

    Advice to Management

    1. Figure out what specifically you want the business to do to generate profits. 2. Bring everyone together in one location to tell them the plan.

I have been working at Lloyds Banking Group

    Pros

There was a corporate culture and clearly defined structure to the teams and divisions within the bank giving everybody clear ideas of their roles and responsibilities.

    Cons

This structure was subject to rapid change and difficult to keep pace with. It also created lots of bureaucracy and red tape

    Advice to Management

Strip away the red tape which can be counter productive - not every employee needs or wants to be micro-managed.
