    Pros

Big company that really understands its market and what is happening in retail. Well positioned against competition.

    Cons

Flavor of the month. Lack focus. Senior leadership continuity is a concern. A lot of turn over. Not a leader in colleague engagement

    Advice to Management

need continuity. Good leadership that cares for everyone, top to bottom. Retention should be a focus. Too much turnover at the senior ranks.

    Pros

You learn how to work as a team and stay busy. It's very close to transit so getting to work on time isn't an issue. The managers are very kind as well. They take pride in their work so if you're willing to pay attention, you'll learn a lot from them.

    Cons

You will get fired for eating food. It didn't make much sense to me when I was hired because we threw out a tonne of food at the end of the shift. Wearing black shoes is a must (only had basketball shoes in full black at the time so they got ruined).

    Advice to Management

Not all workers are honest. I once saw a full-timer verbally harass/insult a part time worker, and a the head manager took the side of the full-timer. Not only took his side, but shouted at the poor guy too. Please don't see seniority as the end all be all.

    Pros

Great people, great atmosphere, great pay, quite a challenge with outsourcing and supply chain but over all a great company . Will be there for as long as they let me :)

    Cons

Supply chain and IT is a challenge, a lot of work being put into both, needs to be a bigger focus though.

    Advice to Management

Fix supply chain to ensure it is run by seasoned, experienced and well heeled people. Too often there is more waste than good.

    Pros

    flexable hours
    contracts were always renewed

    Cons

company would rather be cheap and outsource a lot of stuff to india rather than keep employees is in house. (it support, buyers and a lot more) rather than hire local employees.
watched many people loose their jobs only for the same jobs to be sent to india
many employees are on contract to save money (no benefits, etc)
Most Management did not care about employees, provided empty promises all the time
    no room for advancement

    Advice to Management

follow through on your promises, talk to your employees and dont ignore them

    Pros

Very casual environment. My coworkers are very all very cool people. As long as you do a good job, they ll treat you like a buddy. Low stress work environment.

    Cons

The amount of corporate BS is saddening. There is so much wasted money and product. Part timers are screwed regularly.

    Advice to Management

Please be more honest about schedules. I've been blind sided with shifts the day before with no warning at all. Sometimes my shifts are removed with the same amount of warning.

    Pros

Company is good there is an opportunity to grow within, good benifits but only if u have good managers who believes in groth and development and are supportive.

    Cons

Management wasn't good at regina east store. They want us just to work work n work don't think about promotions and getting ahead.they themselves forking from 22 years on same position n expect us to work on same position with 2% rise every year.

    Advice to Management

If u don't want to grow since last 20-22 years that doesn't mean people also want to work for donkey years give them opportunity or support them by giving support when there is opportunity instead of giving bad reviews and keeping them in your store for ever on same position.

    Pros

Good work/life balance; flexible work arrangements

    Cons

Competitive industry; good performance many years and some bad

    Advice to Management

Turn-over (including exits) and external hires changed the corporate culture since the early 2000s. Don't forget those who helped build and sustain the business.

Solid job security, opportunities for advancement, good benefits, and added perks. Annual raises, and performance bonuses

    Cons

Average pay scale, dated technology (windows XP!), and large-scale company confusion. Lack of inter-departmental understanding.

    Advice to Management

Make a better attempt to stay up to date with information technology.
