Current Employee – been working at Local Corporation full-time for more than a year
Pros – I've been with Local Corporation for 2.5 years and love what I do and who I work with. I feel I'm treated with respect, appreciated for the work that I do and that I'm a valued employee. The pay is great, the people I work with are fabulous and the perks Local provides create a fun environment. Movie day, indoor mini golf, Dave and Buster nights...Local understands that employees are an integral part of the company and that we sometimes need and deserve to let loose!
Cons – There were layoffs in the past (as most companies go through) and though it's never easy, especially saying goodbye to great people and friends, sometimes it is necessary for the overall success of the company.

Current Employee – been working at Local Corporation full-time
Pros – One thing I hear consistently, and completely agree with…is that it’s the people who work here that make it a great place to work. Local has done a great job of hiring great people who are not afraid to work hard. It’s just an added bonus that they are also great people that you like to be around.
In addition to this, Local does a great job of planning great employee events throughout the year. It is rare to see a company consistently plan employee appreciation events such as company picnics, elaborate Christmas parties, employee movie outings and happy hours, just to name a few.
Local moves at an incredibly fast rate and offers a challenging workload. I see this is as a good thing, I welcome a dynamic environment that allows you to grow on a daily basis.
Cons – Yes, there have been layoffs but this has been a very challenging time for most in this economy.

Current Employee – been working at Local Corporation full-time
Pros – This company's leadership truly cares about its employees. From company happy hours, movie premieres, a summer picnic, a Christmas party that is like a wedding reception, & recognizing outstanding performances of its employees. Not only does the leadership care, but this company is full of quality people that care.
Cons – I cannot think of any cons.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

Current Employee – been working at Local Corporation
Pros – The company really does care about it's employees. They have great benefits as well as competitive pay structures.
It's more than that, they do alot of the little things also including company sponsored events like once monthly happy hour at local restaurants, or "breakfast with the president", alot of the things that help you really get to know everyone you work with.
Local is a very close nit family of employees with access to work on new technology and emerging spaces.
Cons – Separate from the core business, the company is really searching for it's next big thing.
To their credit, they aren't afraid to try new things, and like many very healthy organizations they will revise new strategic initiatives as the marketplace changes or if those new businesses hit a few bumps along the way. Unfortunately, many times these shifts can come with changes in workforce, and no one likes to see jobs lost.
Advice to Senior Management – Walk the floor every now and then, we would love to see you guys around more often! We know you're here.

Pros – The Company
Every day is different, the company itself is always pushing forward various number of initiatives and projects to insure growth. The ability to be nimble shows as Local Corp has survived several .Com implosions of the early 2000s.
The Concept
Being all things local is a great concept but there needs to be more product/engineering work to reach goals that management strives for. The opportunity is there and passion of those working on projects shows.
The People
In my opinion, this keeps me going. Great talented middle managers and employees, could not ask for a more dedicated and knowledgeable group of people.
Opportunities abound within the company, there are plenty of ways to add value and your contribution is recognized as well as appreciated as a whole.
Cons – Company is very tactical in how things are done and has begun to look beyond the quarter or year but has taken a very long time to enact a different culture.
Local Corp also lacks employee development plans which will help ensure growth of their current staff as well as encourage new hires in their ability to map their future.
Advice to Senior Management – Involve more of the employee staff to generate new ideas/business concepts as well as involve them in the general direction/strategy of the company. There are plenty of knowledgeable people in the organization which will be able to contribute, the right forum needs to be in place to nurture the ideas.

Current Employee – been working at Local Corporation full-time for more than a year
Pros – Really smart people work here
Management is open to new ideas and feedback, but you need to back it up with data or experience.
Employees are recognized for exemplary effort
Everyone is willing to help you learn and understand what they do. Company "Lunch and Learns" provides opportunity to know what other departments do.
Clean, contemporary facilities, 2 break rooms, commercial espresso/coffee maker, snack/lunch vendor visits property every day, food truck comes to the front door once a week, car wash and drycleaning vendors come to office, easy access from freeways and the Irvine Spectrum.
Fun, corporate events scheduled throughout the year: movie, picnic, ice cream, cupcake celebrations.
Cons – Everything moves at lightning speed. It can be fun depending on the project but you need to balance quality with quantity.
Can't think of any others. I actually enjoy coming to work and interacting with my peers.
Advice to Senior Management – Provide more creative outlets for coming up with ideas in a non-structured manner..i.e instead of a brainstorming meeting, put up an idea wall, try a hack week, or let employees have a "share day" where they can share websites, apps, articles within and outside their teams that motivate them.

Current Employee – been working at Local Corporation full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Management seeks new ideas and welcomes input and innovation.
The company offers career growth and helps employees move into new roles.
Collaborative, friendly environment where you can get things accomplished without lots of politics.
Management keeps employees informed of strategic initiatives and financial road map, which keeps employee priorities aligned.
VERY family friendly company with great perks and benefits, like family picnics, movie nights and summer hours.
Cons – Internet company that moves quickly, so priorities shift often with new initiatives
Other than that, nothing I can think of
Advice to Senior Management – Continue to interact with employees in person. This gives employees more opportunity to hear about new projects and get to know executives better.

Current Employee – been working at Local Corporation full-time for more than a year
Pros – Great Work Environment:
• Fun Company activities (Holiday party, movie days, company picnic)
• Great people
• Holiday and Summer hours
• Competitive pay
Hard work is expected but also rewarded. I constantly feel challenged (which is a good thing).
Cons – Sometimes there can be a bit too much going on. More time to do proper QA would be nice, but often tight deadlines don't allow for that.
