9+ years, straight out of colllege... Great start; Great company

Systems Engineer (Former Employee) Houston, TX

ProsVery diverse environment and great place to learn. There is a great work-life balance and flexible hours.

ConsNo upward mobility. There is a lot of process and documentation that you must go through to get the smallest things changed, although the processes that needs changing, is to better process improvement.

Advice to Senior ManagementI would like for management to have some type of idea of what tasks and daily processes the "worker bees" complete. We are judged by performance against our peers but if management doesn't have an idea what you do (besides what you tell them) how can they fend for you to get a raise when they are just reading your words.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

27 years at LM - Times have changed

Various Titles (Former Employee) Houston, TX

ProsBack in the Cold War days, we made *lots* of influencing products - Often very innovative, highly integrated, and effective...

ConsAt some point along the way, processes & profits became "more" important than the product - Not bad if your a shareholder but the product cutting edge

Advice to Senior ManagementWe used to put the products first and the processes and profits would fall into place - When you put profits and processes ahead of products, the products become mundane... Mundane products isn't what Lockheed was about....

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Houston, TX

ProsWork with a lot of good people. Very laid back and friendly atmosphere.

ConsManagement doesn't listen the people doing the work. A lot of wasteful spending.

Advice to Senior ManagementListen the people that are doing the work everyday.

Sad, but it was time to go...

Senior Systems Engineer (Former Employee) Houston, TX

ProsWe puled off incredibly technically challenging accomplishments and dealt with risk head on - Where others would fear to tread.

ConsRapid promotion and advancements based on accomplishment made it difficult to compete in the local markets when it was over.

Advice to Senior ManagementNone necessary - Reading the Corporate Annual Report, I believe they already know the status of aerospace in Houston.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend
