I have been working at Lockheed Martin as an intern (more than an year)

    Pros

Great student program. Stable, very flexible hours, and reasonable supervisors. Ability to move around to different projects, a lot of on-the-spot training: overall got some very valuable Software Engineering experience. I was an intern for the summer and transitioned to a regular part-time role during the school year, so there's a lot of benefits I'm now eligible for. If only other part-time opportunities were this flexible with our school schedules.

    Cons

It's a defense contractor, so you're definitely not in it for the culture. Work atmosphere depends on what division you're in. My experience wasn't typical, but it was not stressful at all. Very slow at times. In the upper-echelon as far as intern pay goes, so no complaint there. They're still expanding their intern programs, so no complaints there either. Some interns occasionally do get stuck with boring projects and nothing to do for days.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It's only getting better, so no complaints here!

    Pros

Overall nice working environment with competent friendly people. There are also plenty of opportunities and locations and the benefits are great.

    Cons

The company is so large that its easy for your requests to "get lost" in the shuffle, and it seemed that there were always people around but not doing anything.

I have been working at Lockheed Martin

    Pros

    I have nothing to say.

    Cons

Told by the President that everyone is a valued team member, yet the supervisors just above us acted as if they afraid to make waves for themselves. instead of handling problems

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Grow a pair.

I worked at Lockheed Martin full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Great Benefits, great discounts, tuition reimbursement

    Cons

poor work-life balance, lack of diversity in leadership, cut throat management

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management should say what they mean and mean what they say. The problem with Lockheed Martin is that their 'product line' managers employ very cut throat and ruthless practices that people are scared to speak on out of fear of retaliation.

I have been working at Lockheed Martin full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

The potential for growth and being a part of innovative design.

    Cons

Career growth is largely based on who you know, challenging assignments that promote growth or visibility are reserved for personal favorites, Professionals in positions of leadership and upper level management often choke the career of new high potential youth in lieu of middle of the road, familiar counterparts are friends.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

A Presentation by Lockheed Martin at my high school career day is the reason I went into engineering, getting the opportunity to work for them after grad-school was surreal, the experience and true work environment at the company leaves me disappointed.
