    Pros

Great company with energetic and fun company culture make it a dynamic place to work. Lots of room for career growth and professional development. Certifications and continuing education in the insurance field paid for and rewarded with bonuses. Highly recommend working here, and look forward to many more years here.

    Cons

Medical benefits are not very competitive when compared to other companies of this size and caliber.

    Pros

Quarterly meetings are held to let the employees know how the company is doing financially, so expectations are managed where raises/bonuses, etc. are concerned and they are always upfront about that. They care about their employees and understand when personal situations come up and time off needs to be taken unexpectedly.

    Cons

There are career paths for advancement within the organization, but no direction or help from upper management to help you achieve these goals. The annual reviews are not done in a timely manner and, when they are done, they are not really "reviews" to help you know where your strengths and weaknesses are, but just something to turn into HR, so you can say you've had your annual review.

    Advice to Management

Help your employees succeed and move up within the company by working recognizing their strengths, helping them improve their weaknesses, and following through with career paths for advancement that have been put in place.

    Pros

This is an entrepreneurial company. If you are a smart, hard working person who loves their work, this is the place to be!

    Cons

This is a lean organization and sometimes management fails to address issues until they blow up.

    Advice to Management

Some areas of RCS are running amuck.

    Pros

Can independently run your book. No micro managing Good pay and flexibility (although this depends on the unit manager) Flat organization

    Cons

Flat organization - if you want to be a broker and that is it, this is the best firm to do it at. If you want more of a career path, company is too flat to provide opportunities.

I have been working at Lockton Companies full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Team atmosphere, every associate is eager to do all they can to help fellow associates whether or not there is "something" of monetary value associated with it or not. All associates know we win and lose as a team, but we strive to win, and know it takes all of us to make it happen, and the more we win, the more we are rewarded in more than just monetary rewards. Very rewarding career, not just a job.

    Cons

Lockton is committed to excellence, especially with respect to the clients and associates alike. This means that there are times when satisfying the client or helping a fellow associate takes precedence and may intrude into your personal time and work life balance...

    Advice to Management

Create more opportunities for younger associates to travel with more experienced team leads giving the younger associate a bigger picture of the organizations overall goals, and more importantly how they are accomplished with face to face contact with our clients.

I have been working at Lockton Companies full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Privately/family owned, clear path for advancement, relatively little bureaucracy, incredible company culture, very involved in charity and community, has not lost touch with it's roots, great employee recognition for advancements/achievements

    Cons

While having very little bureaucracy is generally a positive, sometimes it can be a negative in that not everything, such as bonus structure, etc. is as transparent as with some larger public companies.

I have been working at Lockton Companies full-time

    Pros

Within the IT group you have a 40 hour work week with the occassional weekend when code releases require it. Periodic beer Fridays. Lots of community activity. Good documentation and procedures in place for IT projects. They are always working on improving the process. It feels like a good stable team environment. In addition, they strive on maintaining the systems at or ahead of industry standards so the networking, hardware, and software are for the most part top of the line.

    Cons

Within the IT group, many people have been with the company for years so professional growth is limited after a time. Certain teams do not work well together and some of the communication needs work.

    Advice to Management

Push for more efficiency across the company. There is way to much manual work (both in terms of paper and processes) that could be streamlined or eliminated.
