LOW pay for A LOT of work. They give you a ton of hours but you don't see any money. The only time to work there is in the summer.

    Pros

Employees are friendly an most of the mid level managers and supervisors. Great team work and knowledge about giving their guests a incredible experience. Most of the staff goes above and beyond.

    Cons

Use to feel like a family business, but you can see and feel how everything turned Corporate. More hours, lest staff, budget cuts and a lot of focus on making money. The actual GM and High level Managers care more about revenue than the quality of their staffs work environment.

    Advice to Management

Employees need to feel that they are important and relevant for the company. They will work better and more happy.

    Pros

Expects an entreprenurial philosphy, management wants to see you succeed.

    Cons

Home office doesn't get involved very much with hotel.

    Pros

Friendly staff, managers who care, great team member travel benefits, great opportunities to transfer from within.

    Cons

Compensation can be a bit low, training is not structured as most standard operations.

    Advice to Management

Better health benefits, structured MIT program, less camaraderie within departments - employees should work as a team not a separate branch.

    Pros

Great property. Newly renovated rooms. Excellent Concierge Staff. Excellent location. Free parking. Top notch Chef. Free cafeteria. Great bar and restaurant.

    Cons

Over worked. Its not uncommon to work 63-66 hours consistently each week. Management doesn't hire new staff when previous staff leave. No work / life balance. Executive Leadership unprofessional in how they talk to coworkers and employees. Executive Management routinely uses profanity directed towards staff as a way to coach or intimate change to staff. High turnover. No formal ongoing training.

    Advice to Management

Get to know employees on an individual and professional level. Actively seek out feedback from employees, including hourly employees on how to cultivate a stronger team environment. Listen to employees concerns openly.

    Pros

I have been working in the home office for Loews Hotels for two years and the company has acquired or opened 5+ properties since I started. There is an exciting energy and focus around growth and innovation and the atmosphere is very fast-paced.

The corporate office is still moderately small and you definitely feel the "family company" vibe.

Great benefits, great location in Manhattan, comfortable/clean offices.

    Cons

    No major cons or concerns.

    Advice to Management

    Keep growing!
