Advice to Senior Management
Don't forget your offices outside of Fremont!
Pros
We are working on new technologies that are very hot on the market including: WCF, WPF / Silverlight, Web Services, etc.
Cons
We are following the agile project management methodology and the work is very intense. We have 2 weeks iterations and the deadlines are comming fast all the time.
Advice to Senior Management
I would like to have more involvement from the management, looking over the people and making sure they have a change to develop and they don't get burn-out.
Pros
Cutting edge technology
Implement and use products they make
global presence and opportunities to work with others outside the US
Cons
High rate of organizational change without middle management input
Salary is a bit low
Travel and Education benefits are non-existent except to senior management
Advice to Senior Management
Invest in your employees, reduce the organizational change, seek advice from your frontline management. Understanding that decisions cannot be made with too many inputs the level of input solicited is very low.
Pros
1. 50 percent off all products is a nice perk
2. Good working environment as everyone is friendly and kind
Cons
1. Bad location
2. Salary was not good
3. No proper career advancement or path
Advice to Senior Management
HR really needs to be focusing on engagement and career advancement
Pros
There are many employees that are very friendly, very helpful, very competent. The staff is full of potential and untapped skill.
Cons
The staff is overworked and loosing hope. We've seen people cry during meetings because of stress and being bullied into unobtainable goals.
Advice to Senior Management
Clarify objectives and offer support to teams instead of placing the blame on your upper management. Stand up for your team and their efforts.
Pros
People are great--have a lot of passion and energy for the products. Amazing products and innovation. Small startup company feel.
Cons
Failure to adhere to processes. Passionate people turn into verbally abusive people at times. HR function is WEAK. Redoing things constantly.
Advice to Senior Management
Invest in your existing talent. Be fair in the way you approach your employees' growth. Create an environment that supports growth, mutual respect, and synergies.
Pros
- Very good products with talent smart patent
- Do what you can do . A lot of meetings is kind of relaxing time
Cons
-Do more or less , doesn't matter due to most of managers are not knowledgeable what they are doing /talking. Working culture is encouraging - " SPEAKING MORE, DOING NOTHING , THEN GETTING PROMOTION "
Advice to Senior Management
Get rid of the bum managers. Keep the talent engineering resources. promote real R&D value. improve productivity /effectiveness.
Pros
Well managed company from Finance to Product Strategy
Great environment for capable and ambitious people
Small yet global company feel
Cons
Slow in making its footprint on the stock market, despite its track record
Great employee benefits, but too little recognition from the street
Definitely not as bold as other high-tech companies, e.g. Apple
Advice to Senior Management
Listen to your employees, probe us more often
Stick to the communicated plans, they seem like they will make a difference in getting the company to the next level of growth.
