I worked at Long Island College Hospital full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Was a great place to work at one time. Fairly large Hospital with a good staff. It felt like you were with family instead of working.

    Cons

Went downhill after first Company took us over (Became part of CHP) instead of us being an equal partner. Continued with the State destroying what was left, regardless of what was promised.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There is no advise, you destroyed this Hospital. You refused to honor Union Contracts. Pay raises were not given. During lay-offs, you cheated Employees out of what they should have received as severance. (Up to 4 weeks severance, when it used to be 1 week for every year there). Same thing with vacation pay, etc.

A Great Hospital Ran Into the Ground by Mismanagement

I worked at Long Island College Hospital

    Pros

Loved working here. I was at this hospital for nearly 15 years and had mainly positive experiences. The one thing I always felt was like this is home even returning there years later for a visit. My fellow employees were family.

    Cons

Unfortunately, the hospital was mismanaged and apathy ruin what use to be a great hospital. Sad that it is now just a shell of it's former self and New York State is now trying to kill it for it's property value.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Save LICH and bring it back to it's glory days!
