Encourage you, promote within, always advancing using technology.

    Cons

Not much opportunity to advance but if you hold a position as long as you do your work you could stay there very long.

    Pros

I am confident in speaking about all of the information I learned from my Mentors at Long and Foster. My experiences with the Office Manager, a former attorney with a litigation background, showcased integrity, fairness and care when strategizing all aspects of a contract or listing agreement. The most important lesson she imparted was to always keep your client's best interests in mind. Remain a professional always.

    Cons

Working with difficult clients that are unrealistic, usually coming from another region.
Location is key, and market conditions matter when Real Estate has seeen an unprecedented number of foreclosures. the past should remain there, but realize the transparencies are in place, due to the 2008 financial crisis.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep the monthly incentives to motivate Salespersons and add special bonuses for utilizing "partners."

    Pros

Great communication and office culture that allowed a creative expressionism level that I was unaccustomed to in other businesses.

    Cons

Very large building that was not laid out as well as the old headquarters. This caused a delay in information processing sometimes and forced more issues than it solved

    Pros

One of the best and biggest private companies to work in, and probably the best experience ever because of the work enviroment.

    Cons

Probably the Pros has also to do with the Cons, which in this case is that in such a huge company is very difficult to have a detailed relationship with the employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

none, Management is and always have been doing a great and professional job making the company in one of the leader in the real estate industry.

I worked at Long & Foster Companies

    Pros

Good bonuses when the housing market is doing well. Management takes care of their employees and works hard to retain their employees when business is doing well. Management understands and promote work/life balance.

    Cons

As soon as the market began to slump the company lays off the same employees it worked so hard to keep during busier seasons. Management consistently spoke of big plans and growth, which for the most part did not come to fruition. Unstable employment, the instability comes not from the company itself but the volatile housing market itself.
