I have been working at Lonza Biologics full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

The benefits are really good - 401K, medical, tuition reimbursement. Convenient location. Safety is valued and training is important and detailed. Emphasis is placed on new ideas.

    Cons

Poor management and no support from HR. No communication to employees. Compensation could be better for the ever increasing level of output required for each position. There is not much room for growth in some departments.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to employee's opinions. This could be the key to keeping good people with the company.

    Neutral Outlook

There is sufficient opportunity to learn and grow. Poor and talentless leadership is the greatest downfall.

I have been working at Lonza Biologics

    Pros

Health benefits, opportunity, location, challenging, rewarding, many great systems in place, LEAN Mfg practices and OE principles are taught and supported.

    Cons

Work load, Pay, work life balance, frustrating management, sometimes OE tools are not used correctly, can not count on bonus even when site performs well, no pension, no stocks, 401k match is too low considering low salaries and no other retirement plan..

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Professionalism, customer focus, soft skills, talent, education, appropriate communication, and true employee appreciation are key. Just moving people into leadership positions because of tenure is a grave mistake.

I have been working at Lonza Biologics

    Pros

Lonza is a great company for motivated people. In my experiance I have never been told no, you can't do that unless it's been for a good reason. Associates encourage their peers and are willing to help new associates learn. Career advancement is fair and rewards hard workers. Management definitly leads and communicates.

    Cons

On the flip side to highly mootivated associates there are people at Lonza that like where they are and don't want to challenge themselves...people have been in the same position for year which works for them but can be frustrating to work with at times when tasks need to be done.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I am proud to work for Lonza, please continue to create value for employees.
