I worked at Loto-Québec full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

People are competent. Lateral or Vertical promotions are possible and encouraged. Good pension fund. Generally a pleasant atmosphere at work, Great downtown location. Great involvment in the community thru sponsorhip or ats programs and festivals.

    Cons

Due to government requirements, company is forced to cut employees and maximize profits. Starting to lag technologically speaking. This is probably a bad transition period and hopefully the company will return to it's former self.

    Recommends
    Negative Outlook

    I worked at Loto-Québec

    Pros

It's a very safe and stable environment, if you can deal with behind the scean politics its a good place not to shine, do your job and go home.

    Cons

You're just a number, very expendable, your competances are not the reason you'd get a promotion, more of who you know type of politicaly run business.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop the politics, do not run the place like it's noone's money your spending. I understand upper management jobs are voted in by party friends so you basicaly have a four year term job so why rock the boat.

    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at Loto-Québec

    Pros

Job security need I say more
    Benefits are somewhat average
Interesting technology project then and now
    Rebates at their facilities

    Cons

    Fit the mold or else
    Most projects are so so
    Recognition ... what recognition
Don't look at salaries anywhere else if you are in IT

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Respect is a two way street !!!
Motivated employees require to feel part of the solution, not only as peons to play with

    Doesn't Recommend
