I have been working at Loving Care Agency full-time for less than a year

    Pros

After holding several nursing jobs I found true contentment when I started working at Loving Care Agency. If you love pediatrics and helping the disabled then this is the job for you! I don't think it is stressful at all compared to working in long term care or fast paced medical offices. The agency trains you and makes sure you are 100% ready to take on your case. They are a big agency so you don't have to worry about not being able to find work in home healthcare. This company has grown and they are everywhere - with a very strong presence in PA. I love you, Loving Care! :)

    Cons

The only con is the same across all borders of home healthcare. Patient's insurance companies will fight against paying for nurses and you may find yourself temporarily out of work if they succeed. It is the risk you have to take working in home healthcare.

I worked at Loving Care Agency full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Many talented people who care about the mission work at LCA.

    Cons

Shifting senior management meant that layoffs and fear were both in the air.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Find a course and stick to it. Consistently hiring C-level staff who live out of state doesn't help.

I worked at Loving Care Agency full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Not so much for money, however you learn more, many different projects, collections.

    Cons

401 K plan has no mach, health insurance is very expansive, no promotions within departments, one thing is good it is the hours, 9:00 to 5:00 and weekends off for corporate office staff, nurses and CHHA have different schedule,

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

why not to offer different department ore different office job to workers who you want to be fired or laid off,
sometime it saves you more money than you think.

Management always on a power trip and find that the office staff are puppets. Of you agree with company's policy you will be fine but if not look elsewhere very vindictive.

I have been working at Loving Care Agency full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    Love the kids and families.

    Cons

Poor communication from the office, poor support of the nursing staff. Lack of raises, expensive benefits premiums. Lack of staff development. Corporate culture of finding fault.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat your RNs as trusted team members who represent your company to families on a daily basis. Respect their input instead of treating them like hourly office staff. Create a team effort where nurses feel like part of the team. Get a better business model ! We have to compete with the largest nursing care company in the state.

I worked at Loving Care Agency full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Some nice people to work with.

    Cons

Poor management, managers don't trust their employees with important information, most employees are left in the dark struggling without the support of management to 'fend for themselves'. A lot of angy/upset families to work with and a lot of unreliable nurses - difficult to make it through a day here without a heavy amount of stress. Management asks their employees to give 110% but offer nothing in return, benefits are very average and quite expensive, and compensation is poor with a chance for a minuscule raise once a year.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Place more trust in your employees, give employees confidence in their job security and growth opportunities in the company. Stop treating your employees like children.
