    I worked at Lowe's full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Steady work, clean environment, close to home, some nice fellow employees, good benefits, 401k, I can't think of much else, but this is a 20 word minimum, so there, I'm done.

    Cons

Like most retail Lowes is open 7 days a week and requires most employees to be available all 7 days and all store hours. Most employees get a different schedule every week. I have yet to find any solid reasoning behind this fact. That is why I took a job as a stocker to get a Monday through Friday fixed schedule, even though that meant working a 4am to 1pm shift. Working retail does not but a person in with the sharpest crayons in the box. That does bit mean they are bad people, just not the smartest ones around.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

A few nice managers, but most have a ridiculous sense of superiority over the common hourly employee.

I worked at Lowe's part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Lowe's has a strong focus on customer care and retention. This is a good place to work for part timers. Lowe's has flexible schedules and will usually make adjustments for their employees, especially students and military. You will get a 10% employee discount.

    Cons

There are minimal pay increases, which are determined after one year of service. The benefits are basically null for part timers. You may be called out to support areas that you have little or no experience with.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management needs to be less overlapping, or better at delegation. Communication among managers to supervisors and department supervisors to department supervisors is poor and often leads to work responsibilities not being accomplished.

I have been working at Lowe's part-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Better pay than other retailers. Good company with good benefits. Easy to climb the ladder.

    Cons

When business is slow(happens mostly in the Midwest due to a certain competitor located only here), part-timers can find their hours reduced to only 11 per week.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire fewer part-timers so the current ones can get a decent amount of hours.
