    Pros

    Great co-workers
    Employee recognition
    Quarterly bonuses
    Friendly customers

    Cons

Understaffed-sometimes you get stuck running multiple depts by yourself. Swing shifts, and you work 3 weekends a month

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Back your people up! Stop treating your better employees like crap. Every store has a different set of rules.

    Pros

Average to high average in compensation compared to similar retailers
    Team oriented, friendly environment

    Cons

Training can be an issue as you are almost 100% responsible for your own training. If you don't know what questions to ask you may find yourself drowning.

I have been working at Lowe's

    Pros

Above average starting salary for the retail industry. Opportunity for advancement. Corporate rotation ensures that full-time employees are guaranteed one weekend off each month as well as a Sunday. Lots of benefits available.

    Cons

It's retail, so long hours on your feet and unreasonable customers are the norm.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Perhaps realize that those of us work the returns/customer service desk do more than regular cashier and adjust our pay accordingly.

I have been working at Lowe's full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Lowe's puts a lot of resources into their employees. They have an excellent training program and great benefits. I also love the dress requirements (jeans, t-shirts, and tennis shoes).

    Cons

They still have a DOS system that's very outdated and not very user-friendly. Working weekends isn't the best, either, but the way they treat their employees makes up for that.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Consider a change to the software that integrates all the programs into one windows-platform environment.
