    Pros

Pay is good. Big box retail experience is good.

    Cons

Lots of favoritism. If you are not the store managers "Buddy" then there isn't much you can do to stay on the good list Its a different world in West Texas. All other lowes from what I see and hear are great to work for

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to your associates when they beg for guidance and training.

    Pros

Very flexible hours, which is good because I work along with school. This is good experience in lower level management, since that's what head cashiering is.

    Cons

Some early hours, but that's the job. Don't do it if you can't handle it. That's basically it.

    Advice to Management

I don't really have much to say. I enjoy my job. I hope to stay here for a while.

    Pros

Good benefits if you can get on the full time team. Starting pay much higher than most other retailers. Lots of room to move up in the company.

    Cons

Hard to get on the full time team. Everyone starts out part time. No such thing as a set schedule - the days/hours are all over the place crazy.

    Advice to Management

Our front end staff are doing a great job, but they need better support - we take the lion's share of the customers complaints. We need better training in specific departments - I work in lawn and garden and most of the people have no idea about plants - customers want to know specifics about how to care for the plants and the employees have no idea what to tell them. We're also very bad at follow through - I purchased a deck through Lowes thinking that because I worked there it would be an easy process. It literally was the worst experience I've ever had. A project that should have taken about 30 days took over 4 months. Lowe's communication was non existent - everything that could have gone wrong did and no one wanted to fix anything. Someone should have been responsible for following the project from beginning to end to make sure things went smoothly. We spent $21,000 - we should have gotten better service.
