I have been working at Lowe's

    Pros

The staff is quite friendly. They help each other out.

    Cons

Work too many days per week for only part time employment.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The training should be more inclusive of day to day routines and regulations of employees rather than just video after video.

I have been working at Lowe's

    Pros

This is a great company to work for. They really care about their employees and value their contribution. They are wonderful.

    Cons

It's a very big company so their is lots of room for growth. I would say the biggest area of opportunity would be development plans for employees and their Implememtation.

    I worked at Lowe's full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Great benefits with good pay. Constantly busy with your duties and with helping customers in your area of responsibility and other departments.

    Cons

No cons if you don't mind physical work. The only one mentionable is working til 11pm

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stores with lower sales volume are still staffed like stores with 2 to 3 times the volume. So consider adjustments.

I have been working at Lowe's

    Pros

If you have dedication, strong work ethic, truly care about taking care of the customer and are willing to relocate you can do anything with this company

    Cons

As you move up the corp ladder there are more and more demands and it's wry hard to balance work and family life

    I have been working at Lowe's full-time

    Pros

Beautiful campus with many amenities; a culture of pride and support for employees to work together and succeed; breaking away from the old school leadership styles generally; directors, VPs, execs visible; focus on change for the future embraced generally.

    Cons

Schedule flexibility, vacation/holiday time pales in comparison to industry, salaries below industry levels.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Store employees and corporate employees are not apples to apples. Many policies seem to try and "peanut butter spread" across the company. This is not realistic. In fact, by trying to force a "fairness" policy, the result is just the opposite. Revise vacation/holiday policy and empower management to make decisions on work/life balance for individuals, not consensus groups.

Continue to push into the future with a culture that embraces change and encourages pioneering spirits to let their voice be heard!

Lowe's...a nice place to work, if it weren't for the managers. Had both fantastic managers and awful ones.

    I worked at Lowe's full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

My coworkers were the best. Loved the interaction with the customers, it felt like a real family.

    Cons

Other than the horrible, all-over-the-place schedules and the megalomaniac managers, it was a good gig. Six years there.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get rid of managers who have no concept of reality.
