    Pros

The people are very nice, the work is interesting.

    Cons

None. For a law firm it was a pretty friendly and nice place to work.

I worked at Lowenstein Sandler full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Friendly associates and partners to work with, great firm culture, great compensation for New Jersey, interesting work where you take responsibility early on, no face time requirement, and more

    Cons

It is still a big law: expect big law hours, in suburb which is both pro and con, expensive housing options around the firm

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I have been working at Lowenstein Sandler full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The people. The firm takes great pride in promoting a strong company culture from management on down.

    Cons

You have to be a self-starter and take initiative. Not a great place for those who want to mindlessly follow. People are expected to think for themselves (also a pro).

I worked at Lowenstein Sandler full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

    Clean restrooms
There are some very nice, hardworking people at this company - but the numbers are dwindling ...
Many of the people were quite pleasant but I always felt like they would rather be working for another firm

    Cons

If you want to see individuals at management positions who have absolutely no clue what they are doing this is the place, get your popcorn and enjoy the show.

Their Information tech, practice support, tcomm & marketing departments are atrocious, it can't get any worse!

Processes and procedures for project delivery and management are atrocious. It surprises me that projects even get close to completion here ...

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please have an outside company come in and test every senior management position to see who is competent, you owe at least that much to a company that was once a great place to work.

Current Employee - Summer Intern in Roseland, NJ

I have been working at Lowenstein Sandler as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

Approachable mentors that are eager to help. If you do a good job you will get a letter of recommendation.

    Cons

I didn't feel that there were any downsides to the internship program at all. I can't comment on full-time employment though.

    Pros

    Loved working for the attorneys.

    Cons

Compensation was average for the same type of position in the industry.

Former Employee - Counsel in Roseland, NJ

I worked at Lowenstein Sandler full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Some very good lawyers in their respective areas of expertise, especially in the bankruptcy and corporate/M&A practice groups.

    Cons

Lifestyle/hours are atrocious for an NJ firm with NJ comp; some practices are very thin; lots of attrition.

    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee
    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee

I worked at Lowenstein Sandler full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Provides decent career opportunities, though arguably no better - and possibly worse - than comparable firms; maintains fairly good client relationships, which in turn provides decent networking opportunities

    Cons

Terrible - and in some cases dishonest and arguably illegal - treatment of employees, regardless of title and rank (unless partner); salary below market standard for amount of work expected

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Happier employees are more productive employees. Abandon the use-them-up-and-spit-them-out business model, it's antiquated. Modernize your approach by focusing on protecting the firm's investments in hard-working, high-performing employees. The goal of any business is to make money; but there should be other goals as well.

Former Employee - Anonymous Employee in Roseland, NJ

I worked at Lowenstein Sandler full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Support staff is great; IT could use some updating and better training. Good pay - they take good care of their long time employees; flex hours and job sharing if desired.

    Cons

One to two minutes late (due to traffic) was deeply frowned upon in my department even if you stayed late to make up the time. Lots of clock watchers.
