    Pros

Great benefits, training, caring people, long term employees who are still enthusiastic, firm continues to grow, promotes from within, strong performance culture with semi-annual reviews, hires really smart attorneys and experienced staff, lots of innovative programs such as on-site chiropractor and programs for employees' children, opening offices in key locations

    Cons

older facility in Roseland that needs work

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Do some cosmetic changes such as paint the Roseland office

Some great people there, but not a good place to be.

I worked at Lowenstein Sandler full-time

    Pros

The pay is reasonable, bonuses can be good, their pro bono commitment is fantastic and brings lots of opportunities to manage cases and learn while helping people. Some of the people working there are really great. The cases are complex and interesting.

    Cons

Work-life balance is poor. Turf wars between the NY and NJ office can be at the expense of associates stuck in the middle. Management is inaccessible or unwilling to address legitimate and avoidable grievances. Partners with a passive-aggressive management style. Partners with an aggressive-aggressive management style. Attorneys who are competitive against their co-workers, and looking out for themselves at the expense of others are more likely to be promoted than solid team players. It is common for LS to fire some of their associates without warning (junior and senior). Seems to be part of their business model since it happens every year.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat people the way you would want to be treated. It is surprising someone would have to explain that to the state's leader in pro bono hours.

    Pros

Friendly associates and partners to work with, great firm culture, great compensation for New Jersey, interesting work where you take responsibility early on, no face time requirement, and more

    Cons

It is still a big law: expect big law hours, in suburb which is both pro and con, expensive housing options around the firm

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You are doing a great job, keep it up!

    Pros

The people. The firm takes great pride in promoting a strong company culture from management on down.

    Cons

You have to be a self-starter and take initiative. Not a great place for those who want to mindlessly follow. People are expected to think for themselves (also a pro).

    Pros

    Clean restrooms
There are some very nice, hardworking people at this company - but the numbers are dwindling ...
Many of the people were quite pleasant but I always felt like they would rather be working for another firm

    Cons

If you want to see individuals at management positions who have absolutely no clue what they are doing this is the place, get your popcorn and enjoy the show.

Their Information tech, practice support, tcomm & marketing departments are atrocious, it can't get any worse!

Processes and procedures for project delivery and management are atrocious. It surprises me that projects even get close to completion here ...

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please have an outside company come in and test every senior management position to see who is competent, you owe at least that much to a company that was once a great place to work.

    Pros

Approachable mentors that are eager to help. If you do a good job you will get a letter of recommendation.

    Cons

I didn't feel that there were any downsides to the internship program at all. I can't comment on full-time employment though.
