I have been working at Lowes Foods part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

The people there are so nice and are very willing to work with your schedule. Training is fairly easy and everything just comes with experience and time.

    Cons

At first you don't get a lot of hours but with time they start building up and if you fill in for people more often you will get more hours.

I worked at Lowes Foods part-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    Worked with my school schedule.

    Cons

You never move up and if you happen to get a slightly better position there is not much more compensation but a lot more responsibility. I had a terrible manager that was hateful and would never help do anything in the front of the store.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Start scheduling more people to work if you don't want to help.

I have been working at Lowes Foods full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

One of the best things about working for this company has been having great co-workers. Many have become lifelong friends.

    Cons

One of the greatest challenges in working for this company is the constant desire by store management and corporate to cut labor while increasing expectations and piling more and more work on fewer people.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Before seeking the advice of a foreign branding guru (as you have already done), you would benefit greatly from seeking the advice and ideas of the people who are in your stores day-in and day-out...your employees. Many have great ideas on how to improve the company but are discouraged to voice them because they don't fit in with the current changes the company is trying to implement.

    I worked at Lowes Foods

    Pros

Company origins are out of the Carolinas
alot of hoopla to entertain children
beer tasting to keep the men and women happy enough to shop.

    Cons

Have no set direction on where they are headed.
Out dated produsts found on shelves
not employee friendly. Main concerns are company not employees.
New and remodled stores are more geared for entertainment and not enough emphisis on what they are...a supremarket.
Prices way to high..Someone has to pay for all the toys and fluff they invested in
