    Pros

Most of the employee's are cheerful, even during stressful times.

    Gossip can be entertaining.(see Cons)

If I needed the healthcare, Lowe's made sure we all understood it. They sent out at least 3 reps to help with any questions regarding enrollment during the weeks leading to and during enrollment.

Corporate takes a big interest in their newly opened stores (see Cons)

First time Lowe's Foods customers are the best. They are in awe!

The pay, at least mine is fair. And I work for it!

    Cons

There just aren't enough employee's scheduled on weekends and during grocery rush hour!

Many young people are hired part time, and they tend to stand around talking, mostly gossip. Which can be entertaining to us middle aged grown ups however it's not really made for work conversation if you catch my drift.

When Corporate announces to Management via their implanted devices that they will be stopping by at a certain hour on a certain day, Management loses their minds! Suddenly the store must not look as if anything actually happens there, but is still functional. Whatever that means. Departments must hide every useful, and needed element from the public eye. All must be staged for this big show. Where some tall guys come in for about 20 minutes, Nod and leave. Then we can all get back to breathing, and functioning like a normal successful store.

Management like whom they like, and if you're not that person. You are spoken at, not too.

Having tons of experience you your line of work does not matter if you are the above person.

The part time workers sometimes get so few hours they end up just getting new jobs. As a full time employee this is sad to watch. We need our part time workers, but for some reason they stretch them thin, even though we have few. And are always understaffed.

There was no training on food safety for any employees. There should have been an entire course, considering it's a grocery store and food is our number one source of income.

    Advice to Management

If you're covering the whole store, learn each department individually. There are huge differences between the Meat Department, the Bakery, the Deli and Produce. Your employees would respect you more if you they knew they could come to you and you would know at least some what the subject they were concerned with.

Remember the young employees mentioned about love to talk. If you're going to talk about other employees in a negative tone, remember it will get passed down to all the other employees. Sometimes with new twist to the tale. Keep it professional.

Work on your poker face. Sometimes you have to tell a not-truth to our customers. But make it believable. Especially a regular customer.

    Pros

Some of the best people I have ever worked with. Every day is different. Tasks can be tedious but never to challenging. Interact with lots of different people every day

    Cons

Shift hours are not always good for people with children. You have to be willing and able to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Pay grade is not stellar unless you make into management.

    Pros

Great Benefits with good lead managers who are proactive in helping employees. Flexible shifts.

    Cons

Not enough work hours. Managers could improve in fairness when assigning shifts.

    Advice to Management

Great environment to work in and being considerate of employee feedback really helps. Pay increase would help employees when hours are short.

It was good until the company decided to downsize their smaller stores and nobody knew their job description.

    Pros

    Nice People that work here

    Cons

Division chairs do not understand how to run a store.

    Advice to Management

Perhaps have more labor in smaller stores, like Just Save. It's a stupid concept of a store.
