I worked at Lucasfilm full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great brand, some really nice people. I think at one time, it would have been a great place to work.

    Cons

Bad communication within management - no direction or respect for work being done. Some very negative people.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep your word, empower your employees, do not tear them down.

I have been working at Lucasfilm full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

In certain departments, you can work flexible hours.
    People are very friendly.
    Nice campus. Starbucks right outside.
Nice perks, like early Saturday screenings, art classes etc.
    Daycare in the same building.

    Cons

After Disney took over, the culture, the bond we shared are now allmost all gone.
    Hard to move between departments.
    Dont expext high salary increase.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Dont lose what we had pre Disney. Find a way to bring the culture back, as that was one of the perks of working there.

    Pros

Talented, passionate people. Beautiful location and working facility. Strong desire by long term employees to protect the brand.

    Cons

A shell of its former self after Disney acquisition. No common goals.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Determine the overall company mission. It's still incredibly unclear.

I worked at Lucasfilm full-time for more than a year

    Pros

From my experience at Lucasfilm, you cannot find a better group of smart and talented group of individuals. The connections you build there are very genuine and you can tell the people love what they do and are whole heartedly invested in the projects they are working on.

    Cons

For the most part, the management will not acknowledge you or the work you do unless you can bring them awards. It's sad, the only recognition comes in the form of the artists and little attention is paid to those in other areas of the organization. With that being said, there is little to no growth potential within the company and salaries tend to be on the low end of the spectrum. Since Disney took over, I know many people who have been laid-off and I understand its just not the same company to work for anymore.

  6.

I learned more about what it takes to run a company, much less a film company, at Lucasfilm.

I worked at Lucasfilm full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

The people are friendly, the surroundings were comfortable, the amenities are first class, compensation was fair, as were the benefits. Outstanding Christmas gifts!

    Cons

Upper management was a bit distant, and not communicable. Unfocused direction in certain departments. Recognition and promotion were rather difficult to achieve. Inflexibility with exploring new avenues of revenue and company growth.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Less politics, more communication. Recognition of lower management and the "grunts" for maintaining day to day unglamorous tasks.
