I have been working at Lucor full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Work with many people that want to learn and grow. If you are what is called a Lube Tech, you can be promoted quite rapidly due to turnover.

    Cons

Very little support. Two catch phrases used a lot :" Let them quit, we'll hire more", and "what have you done for me this month?" Starting pay is still $7.25.

I worked at Lucor full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Work on vehicles of all types and friendly customers

    Cons

Corporation, only cars about hitting budget. Bad about store maintenance and tools. Pay structure is too low to get good employees for a long period of time. Judged by a district or regional manager and moved and used like chess pieces.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Train your managers better, treat your employees better, maintain your facilities better.

I have been working at Lucor

    Pros

It's the 2nd largest franchisor for Jiffy Lube. The location is awesome, 2 hours from the mountains and an hour from the ocean. The stability of the company is very good, seems to have deep pockets. The people that work for us are some of the best in the industry. We take care of the customer.

    Cons

The hours, the add-on work every week. Upper management needs to rein in some of the expenses paid, ie: Regional managers living 300-400 miles away from the actually area they work in, and flying them back and forth. They should live close to their job.

OK....def not the best job...but not the worst

Former Employee - General Operations and Sales Manager
Former Employee - General Operations and Sales Manager

I worked at Lucor full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Something new every day! Customers are great (well 99%). Employees, again most...want to do a good job and work very hard. Actually having the experience of running your own store. Bonus structure is nice for General Managers

    Cons

Constantly having more and more stuff shifted downhill from upper management. Expecting General Managers to work 55 hours a week and only get paid for 40 (salary). Pay does not equal work expected/demanded. If you get a good store, your road is easy...if you get a store that is a consistent underachiever and they expect you to come in and magically turn it around....look out!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Temper your expectations a little bit. Not every store is going to make money hand over fist in a down economy when you are the HIGHEST priced oil change on the market, especially if in less than ideal location. Stop passing your work down to people that are already pushed to the brink with responsibilities and deadlines.

    I worked at Lucor

    Pros

Co-workers were very supportive. The small company atmosphere was nice and administrative staff made sure birthdays and holidays were celebrated.

    Cons

There was no opportunity for advancement. Owners much more interested in their own agendas than the well being of their employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

recognize the value in your employees both at the home office and the stores. Lucor has a terrible reputation in the industry for its customer service department at the home office.
