I worked at Lufthansa (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good training system and good atmosphere at work

    Cons

The organization is flat. So, there is no corporate ladder to climb. The pay is so little and a lot lower than other conglomerate companies.

  3. All in One, it is a good environment, because the management is German.

I have been working at Lufthansa part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Very friendly atmosphere, they appreciate your hard work.

    Cons

Doing delays you have to spend a lot of time at work for re-booking passengers, it doesn't matter how many hours you are there and how early your next shift starts the next day.

    Pros

Benefits are decent, excellent 401K, colleagues are wonderful; many there over 25 years and flexibility is very good.

    Cons

Not the same company it once was; bottom line is cost-cutting even if it means cutting service provided to passengers

    Advice to Management

Keep passengers and employees your priority.

    Positive Outlook

I have been working at Lufthansa full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Global Player in Airline Industry, solid, future oriented German Management, Continous Development Programs for Employees, Strong compensation and Benefits Scheme, various and varying travel benefits policies, good Reputation as a reliable Airline from passenger perspective

    Cons

internal structures and way of working not state of the arts, too much old fashioned Performance Management, lack of fresh ideas for Long employed Managing staff, no attractive Bonus compensation scheme in place in smaller subsidaries and non-Headquarter sites,

    Advice to Management

Re-invent the idea of a marketable Airline, re-design range of products in passenger travel Segment, offer more flexible tariffs to compete with low cost Airlines, analyze and streamline work processes and get more automatic Workflows and reporting Tools in place

    Negative Outlook

    Pros

Good trainings, many internal opportunities (as with any huge company I think)

    Cons

A lot of turmoil due to recent savings programme, also sometimes some managers can be very conservative. Also salary is below market level.

    Advice to Management

Care more about employees if you really think they are your engine

    Pros

A MNC company with a very high product identification of most staff and many international job opportunities. Great travel benefits, very social employer with many flexible employment models (including part-time working, off-times, sabbaticals etc)

    Cons

very little career perspectives from middle management onwards. staff stays at same career level for 10+ years with only lateral movements. Salaries generally low with little to almost no increases, higher salaries only possible for outsiders coming in from other industries or from second level top management upwards.

    Advice to Management

It's not sufficient to rely only on the strong brand, travel benefits and high commitment of staff. LH will keep losing it's best talents to competitors in view of very limited career perspectives, missing clear development plans and financial incentives
