I have been working at Lufthansa

    Pros

Lufthansa offers alot of learning opportunities. Very good and high standard trainings are also offered to qualified personnel

    Cons

German speaking is necassary in order to move up in the food chain. In Germany, International employees face the big challenge as the German corporate culture is very conservative.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Lufthansa should be more international then German

Former Employee - Customer Service Consultant in Dublin, Dublin (Ireland)

I worked at Lufthansa full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

-Just the fact that you put the name Lufthansa in your cv, that is enough to get an answer from your next application. This is a fact.

-Great friendly, multinational environment. Cool and VERY organized managment.
(The appriciation comes only when you quit unfortunatelly)

-What about the TRAVEL Benefits... speachless

Great experience and very thankfull for the general knowledge I gained which I can apply not only to the airline industry, but also to all types of customer service opportunities.
    *mastered the Structure of call

    Cons

*all this system knowledge stays helpful only internally. You can only carry with you the general knowledge of a quality customer service and general info about the industry.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I would recommend that all the agents would answer apart from calls and emails in order to avoid having a monotonous day at work. High volume of calls definately affects a lot the quality of the service. Similar type of companies have a system that combines calls & emails which keeps the employees happy with a clear mind for better service.
The companies´quick response by email is the future nowadays than the 20´min calls on hold which cost a fortune to the customers.

I worked at Lufthansa as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

Lufthansa offers good benefits and an awesome work life balance. You will not have to work long hours. You will have a lot of job security.

    Cons

It is difficult to get promoted. There is a lot of bureocrazy and the pay is not very good. Average probably.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

This company has to be modernized!

I worked at Lufthansa full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Amazing flight benefits
    Very friendly envionment
Good opportunity to learn customer service skills
It's perfect if you want to get some experience in a multinational and enjoy travelling around the world

    Cons

Salary is very low, almost minimum wage
You're treated like a slave (management has no interest in giving you a good work/life balance, if you need time off you have to beg and it's never confirmed until the last minute; if you leave your desk to go to the toilet/canteen, there's a 'timer' and at the end of the month you get a small bonus if you haven't left your desk for too long!!!)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management has to start respecting his employees

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Fire yourself or try to understand the needs of your employees, as they are making money, not you.
Management should try to work with agents at least for a week or two to understand their needs

I have been working at Lufthansa for more than 8 years

    Pros

Global working environment, friendly working atmosphere, nice colleagues, interesting tasks and projects, diverse topics to work on

    Cons

extensive hierarchie driven communication, historic processes override new techniques and approaches, 80ies management style and methods, no differentiation between high- and low-performers, intransparent way of recruiting leaders and executives

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Improve stronger differentiation of performing and non-performing staff and improve career paths for more employees (and not only the selected few)

I worked at Lufthansa full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Cheap flights, even if on limited stand-by basis.

    Cons

Lufthansa lacks a mission and vision to guide the employees in decision making. There is no innovation due a lack of learning organization culture. Lack of leadership. Strong blame culture.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Senior management has too completely change the culture of the company. Focus on revenue instead of cost reduction. Focus on innovation rather than accountability.
