After acquisition by LTI employee head count was reduced. Retained employees were given ample time to adjust.

I worked at LumaSense Technologies (formerly Luxtron) full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Management highly organized and willing to have employees adequately trained on current CRM, MRP and PLM. Very open to new concepts to grow business.

    Cons

Impatience in letting new policies take hold. If sales did not grow by the expected percentage in six months they would change the rules and increase the sales quotas.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more patient for changes to work.

I worked at LumaSense Technologies (formerly Luxtron) full-time for more than a year

    Pros

central location in Santa Clara near 101

    Cons

Decisions are made at the top and management has no understanding of what it takes to get the job done with limited resources and no formal training. This company has very poor processes. Anyone that is good or has another choice always chooses to leave and the replacement if your lucky is usually a downgrade. Company continues to work employees into the ground with no time to focus on pro-active solutions.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus on who you have hired by investing in that person and give people time to collaborate and create great processes that are not a solution created by management alone.

    Pros

    Great people to work with.

    Cons

More resources needed to meet the time schedule to complete projects on time.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep the people making a difference, not just looking at the bottom line of the company.

I have been working at LumaSense Technologies (formerly Luxtron) full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

I have nothing positive to say about this company. They go out and acquire other companies and ruin them.

    Cons

Moved many people from their NJ office CA and withing a year and a half lay a lot of them off. They have dumped a large part of their employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

What management? Constant churn in management is not good for stability of the company and their employees.

I have been working at LumaSense Technologies (formerly Luxtron)

    Pros

Great people. Small enough where you can have a say and see your impact. Always a way to be challenged. Lots of changes right now for the better.

    Cons

Still evolving. Needs to integrate aquired companies better. Some of the systems make work a little harder to get done.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue keeping an eye the people who are "only doing enough to get by." Communicate even more with employees.

I worked at LumaSense Technologies (formerly Luxtron)

    Pros

Good location and a startbucks near (that's it)

    Cons

This is up thier in terms of the worst places I have ever worked, although I left in good terms this place is not a place i would recomend to anyone currently employed. Unemployed, could be worth a shot. The Sr Managment is plain and simple, horrible! They dedication to operations is ridiculous, they hire marketing interns over process engineers when product can not even pass calibration. The supply chain team is a worthless bunch of dinasours that still think they are in 1970's... Some one needs to send the Seal team 6 in thier ASAP

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

With the exception of a few good people, this place needs to be lit on fire
