    Pros

I have been working at Lumedx

    Pros

Small, family-like business. Many really talented that are very capable of with exceptional backgrounds.

    Cons

Complicated software that is not install able, sustainable, or manageable. Tolerance and inconceivable acceptance of poorly made products. 20 year-old code with many modern mismatched additions that deteriorate the performance of the old and new code.

Money desperate. They chase the monthly dollar rather than chasing a brighter, bigger-picture with a long-term success strategy.

The business suffers from multiple start-ups within its own structure creating dissociated teams and the lack of clear accountability. These micro-teams negatively impact the business and morale unnecessarily.

Too many products are made and then never finished before moving on to something else, leaving existing clients and internal staff from sales to support to fail in their attempt to succeed.

The company sells to clients the vision of a CVIS under the premise they have working software but I have never seen Lumedx deliver products to my clients that works.

Field staff and clients pick up the slack for poorly developed software and are made to feel privileged for the opportunity to suffer.

Micro-managed from the highest positions in the organization. 4 people make all the decisions and their talented staff down to lowest paid individuals are not respected.

Processes and procedures for repeat-ability do not exist.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Find your strategic focus, sunset everything else, respect and appreciate the talent you have, and start over.

    I worked at Lumedx

    Pros

A fairly laid back company despite all of their issues. There are a few qualified and capable people here, but they typically do not last more than a year or two.

    Cons

This company is run by people who have spent their entire lives here and don't know anything else. Or people who have single-digit healthcare experience and think they know everything. The software is broken and mostly generated in their India office with little regard to actually making it work. Some of the people in the home office management tier have enormous attitudes and egos. Those who can leave do so, often as quickly as their contract allows them.

    Pros

Easy job and work/life balance is great. Definitely a good place to learn VB and some basic .NET.

    Cons

Not challenging, 20 year old code that can't be changed. Incompetent Management. No growth in revenue or job responsibiliy. Family run company so nepotism is definitely a problem. Low pay.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Reward employees for doing good work and offer incentives to go beyond the just getting by. Citrix is not the answer for a real SAAS solution.

    Pros

Laid back atmosphere, wear your shorts and sandals to work!

    Cons

Confusion as to dynamic of the support team, expected after-hours work for little-to-no pay, no compensation for excessive weekend work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay employees, make everything hourly, or allow them to work from home.

+ Opportunity for personal and professional growth.

    - Communication can be challenging between the teams in the USA and India.
    - Large product pool can be overwhelming and confusing.

I have been working at Lumedx

    Pros

Small company with lack of management and direction. Handful of maverick-type personalities running the show with no real medical experience.

    Cons

25+ years in business, yet still has start up feel and problems. Questionable business practices, too many products, no backbone when it comes to customer requests, lack of FDA policies and procedures, and zero direction from management. Best to wait for this small fish to be gobbled up and dissolved by a larger company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Sell the company and retire already.

I have been working at Lumedx full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Small company who competes against much bigger companies and has consistently held its own for 25 years running. The company makes good decisions, takes good care of clients, takes good care of employees. The company has been successful at growing top line and bottom line and is growing the workforce domestically and internationally.

    Cons

    Nothing of substance to report

    I worked at Lumedx full-time

    Pros

Still remain the #1 vendor for Registry software. This has allowed them to keep a solid customer base built around updates to this product line as well as recurring support revenue. If you worked out of the SEA or SF offices there are perks.

    Cons

Newer CVIS products were not well received in marketplace and are far from user friendly.
    Development was constantly changing directions.
    Support was horendous.
Senior mgt was heavy into analytical analysis of EVERYTHING which resulted in the company losing sight of their customer focus.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pick a direction and stick with it. Rededicate yourself and company to supporting customers.
