    Pros

Small perks like covered parking, coffee, catered lunches once in a while.

    Cons

Lack of opportunities for job growth, management has their own agenda. Revolving door at all levels; 3 CEO's in one year. Most senior employees that were there when I started have left. Company morale is ever sinking.

    Advice to Management

Stop doing the cut and run, just sell the company already and move everything to Seattle like half of it is already.

    Pros

The people here are pleasant and a joy to work with. The building is beautiful and has complimentary soda, coffee, catered lunches every other Wednesday and flexible work schedules. The ability to work on new technologies in engineering is refreshing and allows for professional growth. The new CEO(John Ferron) is very open with as much information is legally possible without being just fluff. This is a huge improvement over the previous carryover CEO from NetMotion. The ability to move up is available for those actively seeking it. New benefits are much better with 401K match and better PTO policy.

    Cons

A clear vision is actively being constructed for long term growth. Near term future is more clear but that only accounts for the next year. Movement majority of business operation to NetMotion in Seattle has been a tough transition since July 2014 but adjustment is going more smooth lately. New PTO policy is nice but could always be better.

    Advice to Management

Treat your existing employees like gold. Be flexible with working hours and dont track time that people are in their seats v. working from home or away from the computer. Get a long term plan established and communicated out. Have more contact from C level executives to employees.

    Pros

For the most part it's a friendly environment.

    Cons

The work can be very challenging at times and the Pay is OK but not great.

    Advice to Management

Take a look at other departments besides Sales and Engineering - they are not the (Only) employees who drive revenue!!!

    Pros

Talented co-workers and very pleasant to work with. The pay and benefits are great. The Scottsdale office is also very nice with catered lunches every other week.

    Cons

Very low morale. Most people joke about when they are getting laid off, but you can tell there is a hint of them being serious. Extremely slow management, decisions are pushed back months at a time. The departments are running skeleton crews, doing the tasks of 2 to 3 people. Most projects turn into a hurry up and wait scenario, be prepared to stay late on a regular basis.

    Advice to Management

First of all, speak to your employees, you'll be surprised how many people are looking to run out the door. The constant revolving door of executive management doesn't help either. Hire more staff to back-fill the people that left. Have managers that can actually manage, not delegate all of their management duties to the team.

    Pros

Excellent opportunity to work with new technologies and a broad range of technologies. The talent of the staff is above average, as is the compensation.

    Cons

Terrible leadership. The culture of senior management invites empire building. That behavior saps vital energy from the task at hand.

    Advice to Management

Give informal feedback to employees regularly. Give formal feedback quarterly. In a review, remember that the best surprise is no surprise. Do not take credit for another person's work. Give apologies for doing the wrong thing, not excuses or deflections. Allow debate between employees, rather than trying to silence opinions. And be aware that the death march is being caused by poor senior leadership while the blame and burden is being shifted by that same leadership to the employee base. In other words, it is time to reform or clean house at or near the top of the chain.

    Pros

You must know the feeling? you go to the interview, you are 'sold' the company? It sounds great!! The plans are promising, the training and support network ticks all the right boxes. In General some of this came true, and once you get to know people, they are great!!

    Cons

The recent management change promised there would not be change for the sake of change! Guess what! total lies. Recent hires are gone, there appears to be more upper management than is really needed. An element of fear is hanging around and you are given additional tasks to do at short notice and with little or no consideration for existing activity or work life balance. Getting tasks handed to you last minute because the other guy cannot do it is totally unacceptable I fear for the future of Lumension, it shows great promise, well it did once.

    Advice to Management

It is obvious really. Develop a plan, communicate the plan. Strip out some of the upper management that is frankly not required or need and in fact are a hindrance to the development of the company as they are more concerned about themselves rather than those around them

    Pros

People are fun to work with. They have a generally good direction and product vision. Their roots go back to Patch management which is a great space to be in.

    Cons

Management appear to hire and fire on a whim. They have hired entire branches and fired entire branches several times. Beware if you work at a branch office, you won't see the layoff coming. Management seems to be swayed one way or another based on the latest trends.

    Advice to Management

Pick a direction and a set of employees and by loyal to both.

    Pros

Most of the people I worked with were fun and intelligent. The office headquarters in Scottsdale is a nice facility.

    Cons

The flagship product is an outdated commodity whose market share is being destroyed by Microsoft. The products are difficult to install and do not work without multiple troubleshooting sessions. Additional job duties are frequently assigned as Lumension does not often replace people when they leave. After a recent "change in direction", Management recently terminated around 40% of the company. Upper management has created a "Culture of fear".

    Advice to Management

The board of directors should replace the CEO and the executive management staff and start over.
