Pros
People are nice and the compensation is far. Bonuses and benefits offer real added value. Large company with a lot of job security
Cons
Its a big company, getting things done quickly can be difficult. We are the North American home office but have to run everything through our office in Milan, Italy.
Pros
Good Work environment, work is challenging and interesting. Job we did was important and for the most part we worked well as a team. Ability to travel was great, loved the managers in the stores.
Cons
Very hard to balance work and personal life, especially if you are a single parent. Some management is allowed to do whatever to their employees and when it is reported, nothing is done.
Pros
Great work to do helping people
Cons
Always in flux and changing again without seeing thru to a result. Change just to change not for a purpose
Advice to Senior Management
Stick witj something before changing again. Remember the definition of insanity
Pros
This company has one of the best and most comprehensive benefits package I have ever been offered. The qualifications are 25 hours+
Cons
Though it does offer one of the best benefits in the country, you need to work 25 hours to be eligible. Most of the employees get less than 25 hours. Luxottica IS a retail company, and like any other retail company, they push growth - so the expectations of sales is pretty heavy.
Pros
Great compensation, quality products, biggest player so tons of brand recognition and advertising dollars. Onesight is an amazing charitable portion of the organization where employees have the opportunity to participate on missions to third world countries, and local agencies. Here they give the gift of sight to those who would not otherwise have it. Huge reason organization has solid engagement levels.
Cons
Employees get lost in the large ship.
Advice to Senior Management
Treat team members with true respect at all times. Not so much lip service
Pros
Good Benefits including insurance, paid time off.
Cons
No help. You work alone all the time. The company refuses to acknowledge the problems within the economy, saying it is your behavior. You are forced to work off the clock to get your job done because you can not be over in hours..If you do not make your sales plan you get NO commission.Even if you miss the goal by $1.00.
Advice to Senior Management
Increase payroll. You can not accomplish all the endless lists and expectations when you have NO help. Listen to your people. Show some respect.
Pros
-lots of hours to work and many locations
-pay is average per industry
Cons
-The recent cutbacks really hurt the moral and customer service provided
-they want you to work with a skeleton crew everyday.
-customers get upset that you are so short staffed
-corporate doesn't give you adequate hours to run your store
-upper management is disconnect from reality and how the it works in the real world
-no training! everything is done on the job and any online training you have to do its on YOUR OWN TIME
Advice to Senior Management
Need lots of help
Pros
Gym and cafeteria on site,
Cons
Management treatment of employees and lack of respect
Advice to Senior Management
Focus on associates and reduction of turnover
Pros
Luxottica is passionate about people. The selection and hiring processes may be more lengthy than other companies, however it is with purpose. Luxottica invests lots of time and money into the development and growth of each and everyone of their employees, from the person who processes shipments to the senior executives. There are many different brands you can work for within Luxottica, all bring their own culture and vibe to the table, but the care to the associate is the same. The growth for instance in the Sunglass Hut brand of Luxottica is outstanding! Teams are in place for the sole purpose of helping you develop as far as you would like to go. If you have no other intention but to be a sales associate... they will help you be the BEST sales associate. If you have aspirations of being a CEO or COO of a major company, the training and development teams will support you on your career path and help you discover how to leverage your strengths to achieve it. Luxottica seeks those who are career focused and want to grow to new heights.
Cons
This is a company where your voice matters, so speak up, you will be heard. If you keep things to yourself, do not expect change. One of those topics that are being brought to the table and change is slowly coming to pass is the competitive salaries. Some brands in Luxottica are on the mid to lower end of the salary average for each position. The upside is, that the growth and development is there to be promoted and move up in salary ranks MUCH quicker than other companies. Our promotions are based on talent, skill set, and availability, not seniority. I have only worked for my brand for 18 months and have received 2 promotions.
Advice to Senior Management
Luxottica looks for leaders. Be passionate, imaginative, entrepreneurial, simple and fast. That is the key to the success at any company or work place. Share your ideas, and state your goals for your business and your career. You will be very satisfied with your growth.
Pros
My immediate boss was extremely talented. The company has great potential to grow and succeed. Discounts and benefits are very good.
Cons
Management does not take the training of new managers or employees seriously which unfortunately leads to a lot of turnover and frustration among the individual stores.
Advice to Senior Management
Better train employees and managers on optics and not just on selling and the brand's culture. People expect a professional enviornment with trained individuals but half of the employees do not understand anything about optics.
