Pros
management style, culture and people
Cons
focus more on rewarding good managers
Advice to Senior Management
keep doing good things
Pros
Good quality product, reasonable hours, decent co-workers, good product allowance, well known brand with regular customers, opportunity to learn about optics.
Cons
Definitely wouldn't recommend working here to people with sales experience, the pay is very low and the training for new employees is poor.
Advice to Senior Management
If you wan't to stop having such high staff turnover you should pay your employees the wages they deserve and update your obsolete point of sale program.
Pros
salary, home/work life balance, workload, discount, benefits
Cons
limited coverage, no growth opportunities for management, RMs can be disrespectful with no consequences,
Advice to Senior Management
This company needs to have training programs to get associates and managers to the next level.
Pros
What is the recipe for successful achievement? To my mind there are just four essential ingredients: Choose a career you love, give it the best there is in you, seize your opportunities, and be a member of the team. Luxottica give you these opportunities, its up to you now to catch the challenge and make the best out of it. I have always been given the chances to express my ideas and thoughts under best conditions and had the chance to work on it.
Cons
"Light travels faster than sound. That's why most people seem bright until you hear them speak."
The daily gossiping in our offices are just ridiculous and this at all hierarchic levels. HQ Milan or overseas offices the ambiance looks like who has the best reputation to accomplish something despite a clear lack of knowledge. Peoples should be promoted according to your work and what you can bring to the table not because your connections are powerful.
Advice to Senior Management
More actions less talk, with a bit of respect on a daily basis should be greatly appreciated.
Pros
Great coworkers at store levels, awesome discount programs, competitive benefits packages, upbeat atmosphere. A fun place to work if you're a people person.
Cons
Upper management NEVER satisfied, goals often trended in unattainable ways, often miss out on sales due to lack of product, commission program is constantly changing, usually for the worse.
Advice to Senior Management
Give a more consistent and somewhat attainable commission program, and back up employees when dealing with thieves and unreasonable customers, tailor product selection to store's area.
Pros
1. Have potential to increase earnings by taking initiative to build practice. 2. Subleasing allows OD to take advantage of medical billing and increase revenue vs. being employed and making hourly wage regardless of performance. 3. Independent situation can be good since little responsibility regarding employees and equipment.
Cons
1. One downside is that the office staff is not directly under independent doctor's control. While the doctor has some influence and can give input, in the end, all decisions made by someone else.
Advice to Senior Management
I can only say keep up the good work. Continue seeking out the input from the employees in the trenches.
Pros
Great opportunities to grow, good management, great training opportunities. Amazing products. stores very well located. good merchandising. Time schedule flexibility, possibility to work in several stores.
Cons
May be a little more training especially for products knowledge. Could give time schedule a little longer in advance. Would appreciate more training in Merchandising field.
Advice to Senior Management
Once again we would appreciate more notice for timetable schedule. Would appreciate a yearly assessment, and a statement about advancement plan.
Pros
Hours were good. Can't work over 40 hours a week
Cons
No feedback on job performance and when you break a rule they just fire you and don't give you a write up or a chance to explain. I watched a new DM come in to the area and he fired 15 managers in 6 months.
Advice to Senior Management
Get a clue on what is going on in your stores and what kind of culture your DM's are creating.
Pros
Discounts on great eyewear. Otherwise, Just was awful
Cons
If you are a business professional and you are not from Italy stay far far away from this place. Rude, Italian executive tea,m with no respect for U.S. culture. Revolving door of leadership team. Revolving door of people from Milan coming for a year or two and leaving. Absolute nightmare.hate to admit I ever worked there.
Advice to Senior Management
Wake up and look at what is going on in the USA. You have leaders here in the USA that are toxic to your success. Best move I made was to leave , and I was very highly respected.
Pros
Great employees, most managers are very helpful and sweet, great with working around your schedule, commission is amazing depending on where you're working, pretty fun to work single coverage, fun to try and make sales goals
Cons
depending on your region, the regional manager can be awful and have no concern for anything else besides their career and money. some employees work their butts off, yet the Regional Manager still is unhappy and treats them unfairly. PS. no matter who you are or how much you contribute to the company, they might eventually turn on you or back stab you, so make sure you look out for yourself FIRST.
Advice to Senior Management
actions speak louder than words. you cant say you are grateful for your managers and sales associates for all their accomplishments when your actions speak otherwise. step off your high horse for one day.
