Pros
Best cancer center in America. Forward thinking, progressive organization doing cutting edge research. Many oppurtunities for progress and growth. well run.
Cons
It is a competitive place. The research carried out is cutting edge that requires hard work and dedication. If you love doing biological research it is a good place.
Pros
The atmosphere in the system is that of a team where everyone can work in a collaborative fashion without much, if any, struggle.
Cons
The only downsides to the hospital would relate to it's large size, so getting around on foot takes effort, but if you know your way and use the shuttles, getting here and there is simple.
Advice to Senior Management
As the number one cancer hospital in the country, M. D. Anderson employs some of the best cancer experts and professionals.

As an entry level graduatuate you are exposed to a large variety of treatment modalities with the opportunity for advancement.
There is a well structured professional development model.

They offer tuition reimbursement.
Lots of personal growth opportunity through various supplementary programs
Cons
Once you have reached the expert level as a therapist it is difficult to advance within the organization.
The work environment is somewhat political.
Parking is expensive.
Advice to Senior Management
Offer career coaching opportunites for individuals who would like to advance or move into different leadership roles within the organization
Pros
A world class cancer research facility with leading edge technologies. Great people, and very good work /life balance. Middle management does try to meet the expectations of the extremely diverse workforce.
Cons
Excessive political correctness, one must be very careful during casual conversations not to say anything that might be taken in the wrong context. In some cases, departmental meetings are not well structured, no process check, items brought up not on agenda.and outside the scope of the meeting. When assigned to work on special projects, very seldom were clear objectives set with defined dates for specific milestones. Projects tended to be open ended.
Advice to Senior Management
Senior management needs to communicate more frequently with classified employees. I never once observed anyone from senior management personally attend a division level employee meeting. There needs to be more focus on improving public areas, two many dollars are spent on the aesthetics of buildings the public cannot access, yet some areas which are there to serve patients and their family members are in need significant improvements.
Pros
MD Anderson Cancer Center is the largest cancer center in the world. It has a large population of patients with different genetic background from US and other countries. The funding from NIH, personal donations, and public organization is great.
Cons
Big and hierarchy organization slow down everything. "At every step, we have somebody there to help you" means you will be stopped and checked at every step. Houston is hot, humid and Houston style.
Pros
#1 cancer hospital , ph\ysicians appreciate nurses job
Cons
nurses less caring now, more \
Advice to Senior Management
no favoritism
Pros
Decent salary, good benefit, and high reputation.
Cons
It's not a software company, so there're no software processes. You will work very hard.
Advice to Senior Management
Management people is very nice. They care their employee a lot. However, the management process is very slow. When you request something, you will wait a couple weeks or months.
