I have been working at M+W Group full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Good pay, benefits and perks. Relaxed working environment.

    Cons

Seems to be quite inefficient and may lose money. When this happens, lay-offs are inevitable.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Strengthen organization structure, increase work efficiency and most of all, strengthen financial controls to make sure projects are profitable. Also need to improve good recruitment process to avoid bad blood infusion.

    Pros

Overall successful project managers do quite well financially, but there is significant politics legacy from previous management

    Cons

Politics play a large roll and project assignment is not always fair

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stand by your decisions and do not let executive management dictate problems that cannot be resolved

I have been working at M+W Group full-time

    Pros

The job presents great learning opportunities, as there are so much to learn. There is job satisfaction, and the job is challenging (sometimes too challenging).

    Cons

Overworked, underpaid. Not enough guidance. Job requires a lot of dedication and time. Lacking in benefits/compensation, and because the pay is rather low, it seems like the company does not appreciate the employee.

I worked at M+W Group as a contractor for more than a year

    Pros

Great atmosphere, great pay, very black and white.Always get to take your breaks and appreciate if you work long hours.

    Cons

The hours were very long at times and you had to deal with people biting at you because they couldn't work to a deadline.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Each discipline should be responsible for hiring the people they need on their team otherwise you end up taking on people that are lacking the skills for the job.

    Pros

Good work environment. Excellent expat compensation package.

    Cons

No leadership/ strategy in business development causing lack of projects. Technical staff must pay the price (massive lay off)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The only place for a ship adrift in the current is on the rocks. Get good leadership. Develop a strategy for growth. No company can survive without income.

    Pros

Unlimited Opportunities. Encouragement for young talent . Pride in working for a company that is aimed at bringing a change in the Indian Construction Industry. Exposure to Innovative and Advanced Construction Technologies.

    Cons

The company has rapidly developed in India in the recent years with new recruitments from varied backgrounds and experiences. Due to this, there is an occasional discord among the team members.

I worked at M+W Group full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Excellent expat compensation package although discriminatory to local employees.

    Cons

Lack of leadership in business development leading to massive layoffs/ voluntary resignation as there is no income to sustain all employees. Technical staff (mostly expat department managers) must pay the price although it is not their responsibility.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more pro-active in looking for contracts. Develop a strategy to market yourself. The company looks like a ship drifting with the current and the only place it will land is on rocks.

Former Employee - Lead Architect in Shanghai, Shanghai (China)

I worked at M+W Group full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Big, multinational engineering company with all trades under one roof. The company offered good benefits and in general the work environment was pleasant specially inside each department.

    Cons

Head of departments not always walk in the same direction, which sometimes worked against the projects' success.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Have the department managers on the same page, so they work towards the same goal. This will help to avoid polarization among department's employees.
