I have been working at MA Laboratories

    Pros

Great work-life balance, coworkers are very friendly, great way to earn experience for fresh college grads

    Cons

Clock in/out time card system, rigid company schedule policy, benefits are not great

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Better total package and environment

  2.

No diversity in the company! Great for people fluent in Chinese and having prior zero experience.

I worked at MA Laboratories full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

No micromanagement (no one trains you, encourages you, manages you and helps you)

    Cons

    - Everybody inside of the company speaks Chinese ONLY (including managers who suppose to give an example to other employees and encourage communication in a language which everyone understands, especially since the company is located in the USA and speaking Chinese is not listed as mandatory). Unless you speak Chinese you will feel yourself as an "Indian in Paris" as you will be constantly surrounded by people who speak Chinese all day long
    - No promotion (working there met many people who worked in a company for year and were successful in their first years of work for the company but have been never promoted financially, the only promotion was an increase in your monthly quota
    - Extremely small commission (they try to get you to work for them explaining their low base salary due to commission). There is almost NO commission you are going to see even if you have high sales.
    - Poor management (their management lacks any knowledge regarding how to manage people, not only they will not encourage you and motivate you, they will steal your customers from you). It is so sad, it almost feels that it is a "joke".
    - Low wages (unbelievable low salary considering their commission and spiffs are extremely low which make you wanna cry)
    - If you want to learn anything about the industry, forget about it. They will never give you any useful information to educate you about the products and the industry. The trainings they have from the vendors every morning is a waste of time. Met many people who were working in the company for years and have a very basic knowledge of what they do which you can get on your own within a day.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please study some management! If you cannot afford an MBA, at least read some useful articles about management online. Stop speaking Chinese around other employees, who cannot understand your language and learn how to be fair.

I worked at MA Laboratories full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

It's easy to get in. Might be a good opportunity for new grads. If you're into computers and building them, you'll learn a little something here. You can view working here as a good opportunity to learn about sales. It's brutal, and you'll learn to grow a thicker skin because of this.

    Cons

High turnover. Employees are used and then disregarded. No much incentive to do well. Just fly under the radar and do just enough for your quota to not get red flagged. That's how you succeed. Do too well and you're just digging yourself a deeper grave because more will be expected of you, and trust me, you won't be able to deliver.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give employees an incentive to do better. Don't manage by fear. Invest in opportunities for employees and maybe they'll work harder for you.

I worked at MA Laboratories full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

-People (the ones who speak English fluently) are very friendly
-Work/Life balance is just fine...this really is an 8-5 gig and nothing more
-No one is keeping tabs on your schedule or breaks

    Cons

-For a salesperson, it was extremely odd not having a formal CRM or at least something better than an Excel spreadsheet to track sales activity
-Not very much help received in training
-Lack of contact with management, approachability is almost non-existent or at least feels like it

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

-Be proactive with your young sales stars
-Listen for feedback from the bottom line workers BEFORE they leave (I was asked a lot when I left)
-Implement a sales process and tools that aren't based on 20+ year old methods, any salesperson without significant contacts will not do well

I worked at MA Laboratories full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Cant really think of any. There are few nice coworkers. Working environment is ok. That's about it. Casual dress code is nice.

    Cons

Not enough pto. Not flexible in working hours. Always get deducted pay because you are few minutes late and they won't let you make up that few minutes.
Bad commission structures. You make no commission unless you are a million dollars sales. Spiffs get ripped off by employer and product managers. Manufactures pay $1 but company only gives you $0.25. Don't waste your time.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Value your employees. Let them make money too. Working parents with young children at home need flexible working hours.
