Best and worst decision of my life

I worked at MAQ Software full-time

    Pros

After working here, any other company will feel like heaven on Earth. So if you want to experience the worst first hand, spend some time here. But do not spend more than six months, else you will fall behind the others in the industry.

That is why I think joining MAQ was the best decision of my life. Even if my current organization sends me to Antarctica for a year with no one but Penguins to talk to, I think I will be happier there than I was at MAQ. And I am not trying to be funny. If you do not believe me, you are welcome to experience it yourself.

Having said all that I guess the only pro here will be that you will be working with some of the toughest minds. Toughest because they manage to work amidst all the adversities the organization creates for them. Also since your work will be sucking life out of you, your colleagues will be the only shoulders to cry on. In the process you will create some long term friends, despite Keanu Reeve's line from the movie Speed(1994) "I have to warn you, I've heard relationships based on intense experiences never work".

    Cons

If I start writing there won't be enough space.
    Some broad points:
    1. The organization is a rudderless ship. The management is either incompetent or inexperienced. They are good at tactics, but suck at strategy.
    2. Past policies/events have created an environment of fear. Due to the rampant incompetence at the top, I am not even sure if that is by design. And where there is fear, there is no innovation.
    3. There is very little respect for the individual.
    4. For an organization of this size, the amount of politics is too high. People are more interested in saving their own, than doing something better.
    5. There is no growth in the true sense. You may be given raise/promotion, but you will be doing the same thing over and over. So slowly you'll be unemployable.
    6. For those who think one of the pros is that MAQ works on the latest technology, please wake up. SQL Server 2014 or Visual Studio 2013 are not the latest technologies. Smart machines, Context rich systems, Computing everywhere, Internet of Things, 3D Printing, are. There is a difference between using the latest tools to do the same old work, and working on the latest technologies.

    My worst decision? Oh yeah.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If CEO coaches and Business bestsellers can't help them, neither can I.
But I think you can start with investing on innovation. But for that you have to think beyond short term profits, which may not be in your DNA.

I worked at MAQ Software full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    I cannot remember any pros

    Cons

I am a former employee of MAQ Software and spent almost 3 years in his Kingdom. Yes, Kingdom should be the correct word to explain this place because it cannot be called as Company.
A company makes up with employees, but I never felt like an employee rather I felt like a Slave.

It is a kingdom where Dictator Rajeev says - "Big Boss want, everyone should come office by 8:45 AM" and that's not a rule that becomes a LAW.
If you break the law, you will not get the single penny from your wages.

If you ever try to give suggestion, it becomes a revolt against the dictator Rajeev.

Dictator Rajeev will ask you to forcefully read his book and praise about it. He pushes people because he know it is complete useless company manual.

If you make any spelling mistake, he will insult you in front of everyone.Even few people got fire due to this silly reason.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Even I would like to comment on management people, guys you are fairly passed outs from IIM's. Please get some sense and stop following this man.
Because you are not doing the job, you are just encouraging him to make the situation worst.
