Pros – If you enjoy the challenges of restaurant life, and don't mind the hours, this is an excellent choice for you.
Benefits are industry standard. Upper management is striving for a culture of servant leadership development, but aren't quite there yet.
Cons – It's difficult to let trouble makers go. The company is so terrified of lawsuits for wrongful termination and/or paying unemployment claims, they would rather keep the bad apples (and even rehire some.). This makes developing the culture they are striving for, impossible to maintain. I understand you'll never have a perfect staff, but there have been many cases of people acting nearly mentally terroristic being allowed to keep their jobs. Makes for a very unhappy workplace at times.
Advice to Senior Management – The culture will come when there is more cohesion at the top, and the 'kool-aid' is doled out in manager meetings and passed down to the rest of the staff. This mission statement needs revision and needs to be known by the employees of this company for it to ever be realized.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company
