Former Employee – worked at MDA IS part-time for less than a year
Pros – They have wonderful accommodations. Each cubicle has 2 large dual computers to work on. The office space is large, welcoming, and friendly. Even though you have your own projects, it is easy to turn around and ask others for help if needed.
Cons – Personally it was a bit of a drive for me each day, but that is circumstantial and it was not that big of a deal.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

Current Employee – been working at MDA IS
Pros – The majority of my coworkers were great, they made it bearable and i wouldn't have stayed in the company for as long as i did if it wasn't for them.
The health insurance benefits are pretty good, you can't beat $20 per paycheck for a pretty good plan.
Cons – This is a glorified staffing company & production shop. Management claims to have a vision, but they invariably revert back to what they do best which is staff federal contracts and hire unskilled, recently graduated college kids to work on mindless production work. A few of the kids quit, a few get fired, and a 'lucky' few are made into team leaders or groomed for middle management, just in time for the next batch of spring graduates. Rinse & Repeat.
What matters here the most is your ability to talk yourself up and who you know in the GIS industry.
Advice to Senior Management – Trim the fat and reward results.

Current Employee – been working at MDA IS
Pros – variety of work - always working on different projects; surrounded by some of the best in the industry, there is always an expert when there is a question; upper management are very transparent and communicative; flexible work schedule; great benefits
Cons – production atmosphere for many, can get tedious at times
Advice to Senior Management – upper management is aware of employees capabilities and assigns projects accordingly; they are also very "down to earth" and actively communicate with the staff

Former Employee – worked at MDA IS
Pros – You aren't just a number at MDA. Senior Staff makes an effort to know everyone's name and they provide "Snack Wednesday" which is a huge employee favorite. Very flexible work environment, many people have been there for 10+ years.
Cons – No career advancement, and the compensation is under market.
