    I worked at MDI Achieve full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    Really nice people, good environment, helpful and knowledgeable. I would have stayed with them if personal reasons didn't have to take me elsewhere. Lots of vacation time!

    Cons

    Not familiar with the new office, so there is no opinion on that location.

    I have been working at MDI Achieve full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

    They are in the correct industry. Currently largest LTC software providers in North America. Employees stay for many years. Average employees are there between 6-8 years with some notable being there ver 15+ years. Small organization with a good VP who manages almost the entire US operations. Flexible work hours.

    Cons

    Little room for growth. Management lacks looking beyond their buddies for potential opportunities. Huge drinking culture. Current managers keep a close door policy and reprimand for exposing their hush hush matters. Send spys through close contacts at LTC clients to find ways to beat competitors. Department leaders are young pretty boys and girls.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Look at committed employees who have helped the company grow. A new frat boy style management culture is evolving where all buddies and colleagues from 'one department' have taken management roles. The new president needs to ease-off on using football as an example for any new strategy or business model.

    Pros

    Some of the best reason to work at MDI Achieve (new name), good benefits and team enviroment is supported.

    Cons

    Some of the downsides of working at MDI Achieve (new name), mid and upper management displays low client retention efforts which advancement in opportunities are based. Too many aquisitions of smaller companies which causes the management team be more reactive than proactive.

    Since it was taken over in 2005 it is not that same company.

    Relaxed cothing and atmosphere was nice.

    Cons

    Bad management and bad pay. Low level of techincal advancement.

    Learn how to manage people rather than manage covering your tracks when you have fallen asleep at the wheel.

    Pros

    The work is challenging. The industry is in constant change and the variety of issues is constantly changing. Definitely not a dull or stagnant job. Allows opportunities to learn new things.

    Cons

    Integration of multiple companies into one cohesive company has been poorly handled. Messages sent from management have been hollow and lack follow through.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Bridge the gaps between the products then work on moving the client bases to the flagship product. Review existing procedures as they have great room for improvement. Things really don't have to as complicated as they are made to be. Too many people involved at all levels. Listen to management from all levels and tenures.

    Pros

    Friendly employees, good dedicated client services focus. Trying to continually improve internal communication. Experienced leadership, very busy work environment; challenging industry.

    Cons

    Dealing with a lot of inherited issues from acquired companies and their products, but paying attention to them so customers are not negatively affected.
