    Pros

Depending on your leadership, it can be an amazing experience
    Great opportunities for hand raisers
    Co-workers are fun & smart
Plenty of chances (but not time) to learn/grow

    Cons

    Under-staffing runs rampant
Leaderships cultural direction doesn't get carried out on the ground floor
The building/work space is dated & restless

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    I worked at MEC full-time

    Pros

MEC had a lot of great benefits like fun company parties, inspiring events to learn more about the industry, and free transportation/meals if you worked late. The vacation time was also generous - having the week between Christmas and New Year's off was great.

    Cons

Day to day work was monotonous, work/life balance was non-existent (the end of the day could range anywhere from 6 pm to 10:30 pm with no rhyme or reason or a way to plan your schedule around it), and the company was very cliquish. In addition, HR will tell you about all of the great opportunities for training and growth/promotions, but opportunities like Media School can literally take years to get into and promotion opportunities (and timelines) are exaggerated.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay attention to how your managers are managing their teams. Having the right or wrong person managing an account can make or break how that team functions and 100% impacts the quality of work completed. Also, take the time to understand why people are leaving - you might learn how to get people to stay.

I have been working at MEC

    Pros

Ability to work in many aspects of social from paid to content and high in agency integration

    Cons

Long hours, understaffed- the agency doesn't pay overtime but most people work overtime especially social- mistakes are made which shouldn't be due to tight deadlines and lack of staff

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Full all rolls to avoid long hours and frustration

I worked at MEC full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Lots of experience in Excel and working in teams. Friendly co-workers, normal workplace hours and never had to do overtime. Plenty of office parties.

    Cons

Horrible pay - below industry standard. Was verbally offered a greater salary than given on offer letter.
Upper management are firm believers in micro-managing and throwing you and your team under the bus at the drop of a hat. Managers showed more interest in gossip than the actual nature of the work, which is obviously bad for morale and workplace culture.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more willing to take blame when responsible and show more positive reinforcement when employees achieve quarterly/annual goals.

    Cons

Analytics team: Insanely high turnover, fake management

I have been working at MEC full-time

    Pros

Your peers are around your age and are in the same boat - misery loves company

It also seems groups other than the analytics group have better leaders and growth

    Cons

Maybe 90% of the team has been there less than a year. One associate director has churned through six analysts within a year. The head of the group is very fake, passive aggressive and is in essence a cheerful bully, but clever with talking and forcing her way through things.

Pay also seems to be on the low side.

The office is so cheap that you must bring your own silverware and plates and milk for coffee.

If you interview, ask to talk to someone you will work alongside, not work for. Ask them their opinion of leadership. Also ask them how much work is work that humans should not be doing.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Look at leaders of groups with suspiciously high turnover. There is a reason for it.
