Former Employee – worked at MEI Technologies full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Up to date on processes and procedures. Salary fairly good.
Cons – Favoritism runs rampant at corporate. They will find a reason to fire you if upper management doesn't like you. I got another job and left the company because of seeing the injustice done here.
Advice to Senior Management – Lighten up, just because someone is different doesn't mean they are a bad employee. I have seen way to many employees get fired because someone from upper management didn't like them. Upper management will hire their friends whenever a friend needs a job.

Current Employee – been working at MEI Technologies full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – Mid level management really seems to care about their employees.
Cons – Contract negoations generally seem to mostly benefit the company at the expense of the employees. Employee promotion is very limited for non-management types.
Advice to Senior Management – Work to promote your employees.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Current Employee – been working at MEI Technologies
Pros – Very fair. Flexible work schedule. Good reputation as a NASA contractor
Cons – Being a small business, not much of name recognition as a company. Not a Boeing or a Lockheed.

Former Employee – worked at MEI Technologies
Pros – The integrety of the managment in meeting the goals of the customer and the treatment of employees is remarkable. particularly in the current political environment.
Cons – This is a down time for the aerospace industry and so for MEI Tech. In better times, this company will fourish again.
Advice to Senior Management – when looking to fill a poisition, remember to look at some of your other contracts. There may be new chances for advancement for folks on a different contract that would be willing to make a change.

Current Employee – been working at MEI Technologies
Pros – The WORST company to work for!! Pay is lousey, they short staff us, and place rediculous deadlines on us. Benefits are lousy as well. I would leave but the job market is so bad right I can't
Cons – No understanding of providing benefits to the employees.
Communication is nil.
No standards in place for almost anything.
Company management and HR is involved in bureaucracy, discrimination and negative attitude towards highly talented people offering their professional expertise to build MEI image.
MEI, HR is the worst department to deal with employees. They often make mistakes in paying employees, accusing employees for false changes to shift MEI responsibility of delays in the task and forcing employees to resign at the end of task so that you don't have to pay a surveillance package. It is damaging your image and credibility in front of clients.
Advice to Senior Management – Take a closer look at how things are being managed in Lanham Seabrook, MD, since local management is sacrificing good elements to maintain the status quo, and avoiding growth of good people, which could make evident that better people could be managing the company.

Former Employee – worked at MEI Technologies
Pros – The company always seemed to have the employee in mind. They recognize when jobs are done well, and offer awards and bonuses to those who exceed job expectation. They always let the employees know abut changes and activities within the company. I was always happy to call MEI my employer.
Cons – Had a confusing pay schedule to begin with. Pay grade could have been better, but was by far not bad.
Advice to Senior Management – MEI has made it this far, and got to the point they are, by caring for the employee over-all. Keep that way of business strong, because the employee actually makes the company. Thank you, and I hope to work for you again.

Current Employee – been working at MEI Technologies
Pros – I don't want to sound cliche, but co-workers here are some of the best people I have ever worked with during my career. If you have family issues and need time off or to leave early management does not make it a big deal. Flexible work hours, if needed. Employees are highly regarded here.
Cons – Not much room to more up, you vertually have to wait for someone to retire.
Repetitive government work
Advice to Senior Management – Expand the capabilities of the contract to include more advancement oppurtunities.

Current Employee – been working at MEI Technologies
Pros – MEI provides great support, good salaries, and decent benefits for those that work on site at Goddard Space Flight Center. They have been good to me and my co-workers generally agree.
Cons – Health benefits are expensive (but that is common) and lack of any employee stock options.
Advice to Senior Management – Get rid of the punishment for having a spouse that gets health benefits through their job and still uses MEI's health benefits. Instead, give a bonus in a Payflex account for those who use their spouse's insurance.

Current Employee – been working at MEI Technologies
Pros – +Compensation is good
+Excellent management
+They recognize good work with accolades and raises
+The best NASA contractor based off my conversations with others at JSC
Cons – -Education reimbursement is pretty much nonexistent ($1000 per year IIRC)
-I honestly don't have anything else negative to say. Everything is great
Advice to Senior Management – ...Offer a competitive education reimbursement package.
