I worked at METRO Group (Germany)

    Pros

Cash, it is a great place to make mad money.

    Cons

Not much fun. I'm tired of slipping on the wet floors in the place. If the janitors would pick up a broom and mop the floors I'd be good to go.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep working. You spend too much time looking for your next million dollar house than you do actually working on improving the company.l

    Pros

Like other good MNCs, the Company provides many Trainings and internal Job opportunities to ensure further career development.

    Cons

Compensation is a bit on the low side to me. However, it can be improved by changing positions internally, or trying to get promoted.

I worked at METRO Group (Germany) full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - intercultural experience: meet different people around the world and interact with them
    - budgets that can help you create what you need
    - training and clear rules regarding behavior
    - increases the trust and self-esteem of employee thank to the company's culture

    Cons

    - lack of speed in evolution (a large system moves slowly)
    - hard to come up and implement out-of-the-box ideas, no flexibility and willingness to improve fast without efforts
    - needed knowledge in new areas is not taken in consideration by management and decisions are based on instinct, sometimes without strategy
    - sometimes management is the bottleneck in evolution and realizing how the market evolves.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Use the people with experience in one are properly, rely on them and listen to advice. Using them as consultants and managers without experience to take decisions is not the best strategy, from my point of view.
