    Difficult Place To Work

    Director Level (Former Employee)
    Dallas, TX

Pros- The staff is warm, friendly and mostly very talented. Lately, most use agency as bridge out of DFW.
    - 2004 spent million$ on the offices. Close your eyes - could be Menlo Park, Ca
    - Had top tier clients, AOR and project work. But most clients left. Only a few left.
    - Senior leaders had some chops. All came from decent agencies.

Cons- Doug Levy, CEO named [last] on Glassdoor U.S. marketing CEOs.
    - Analysis paralysis. We didn't (and still don't) care about Net Promoter Scores. It's an agency, not Southwest Airlines.
    - Horrible name change. Imc2 was iconic. CEO changed the name of the agency so imc2 name wouldn't hurt his book sales. As of 04/23/2014, the agency website with new name has to call out on the homepage "we are not a dating service."
    - Those good senior managers mentioned in Pros - all but 2 are left as of April 2014. Sad, but true.

Advice to Senior ManagementAll the leaders who made this a decent agency are gone: The President, CMO, CSO, CCO, Head of New Biz, Head of HR, Head of P&G account, all gone within 6 months. Advice - best years were when CEO let other leaders guide the clients, staff and work.

Stop shooting yourself in the foot imc2...I mean MEplusYOU

    Director Level (Former Employee)
    Dallas, TX

ProsThey hire well and do a great job of making you drink the cool-aid at first. As a thought leader they are in the forefront and promote thought leaderships well.

ConsThe vision of the company and the execution are worlds apart. They run off any employee that tries to live the philosophy because it is a project management and account management shop. If you are a creative or strategist you're a second class citizen and slave to how many hours they have projected for your tast - and they always estimate on what they think a client will sign off on instead of what is needed. No backbone in AM/PM. It ends up meaning there is zero collaboration and team work because there is only enough hours for one person to do a task and asking for input from others would put things over budget. And the ones who try to change that (often coming from big successful agencies) get fired.

Advice to Senior ManagementStop being intimidated by the people you hire. You hired a person from a bigger agency that is successful and they might have an opinion on a better way to do something? What did you expect?

    Has both pros and cons

    Software Engineer Intern (Former Employee)
    Dallas, TX

Prossome of the departments in the company have talented people and that gives opportunity to learn more about the respected field

ConsConstant layoffs. Company has short term clients and when they loose a client or two, they let go of people on that project. layoffs happen every 4-6 months

So much potential, such tone deaf leadership

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsReally nice people with the desire to do good things, a really great mission statement, heritage with a lot of rock star brands/work, great strategic thinking and a few really good creatives.

ConsStarted really going downhill in 2011 with leadership who could not turn their lofty, pretty vision into practical or operational excellence. Absolutely awful in execution. Sure, there would be "fun" things like beer parties, cookouts, etc...but all of that was just a distraction from a company that couldn't manage finances, that couldn't hire the right people and refused to fire the wrong people, unhappy clients, a President that was more concerned with writing a book than leading/managing his company, and 17 hour days trying to explain to clients why our good thinking can't be executed on on time and on budget with minimal flaws.

Advice to Senior ManagementSee the company and put it into someone's hands that can actually manage operations. The soul of the company may still be there if you're lucky--but unless you want to continue to run it into the ground, step away, and perhaps rethink your business model.

    Layoff land

    Senior Interactive Designer (Former Employee)
    Dallas, TX

ProsThey have a fun office and lots of party. Great people. They have very talented and best people they can find.

ConsSince they changed their name to a ridiculous MePlusYou, it's been a layoff land. They layoff tenure employees for cheap interns. It's a guarantee to have a layoff every quarter. Really scary to work there. It was a great place to work about 3 years ago. Now they are struggling to get by.

Advice to Senior ManagementStop paying a bunch of VPs who don't do anything. Change your silly name back to the good old imc2.

    Anxiety-Filled Office

    Graphic Designer (Former Employee)
    Dallas, TX

ProsBeautiful offices, full of creative people, and lots of amenities like a pool table, various video games, alcohol, etc. Standard advertising agency fare.

ConsThey spend way too much money on the stuff to make them look cool, and not enough on their employees. One employee was laid-off because the company lost a client, but turned around the next day and spent that employees entire annual salary replacing fish in a fish tank that had all died over the past couple weeks.

Advice to Senior ManagementTreat your employees like human beings.

Being an independent based in Dallas is tough.

    Business Development Director (Current Employee)
    Dallas, TX

ProsThe people are great and the leadership is extremely optimistic. The vibe is relatively calm and there are a lot of people who really want to make a difference for their clients.

ConsThe best clients have complex agency needs that are hard to satisfy without a fully-scaled organization

Advice to Senior ManagementFocus on the client and the work.

    Believe the bad Reviews

    Senior Account Executive (Former Employee)
    Dallas, TX

ProsVery few other than perhaps the subculture that exists below management. Kind of like kids that stick together in a very dysfunctional household.

ConsToo many. CEO is big part of problem. Says one thing, does another. Doesn't listen to contrary points-of-view. Fails to empower people. Often acts sincere but doesn't follow through in way that makes you want to believe. Big problem is shift in strategy, direction. The new direction wasn't what we had hoped. Now returning to the old, sort of. So many mixed signals.

Advice to Senior ManagementStop making promises to employees and clients that can't be kept.
