Chefs.Payroll staff and HR very competent and friendly. Security staff internal and external outstanding and discreet with sensitive handling of guest/ hotel issues.
Cons

Advice to Senior Management
Keep up the good work the flame is eternal as above so below push the envelope watch it bend.
Pros
Great benefits, poor 401k package. I love the hotel that I work at. We have so many different amenities that we are able to offer the guest.
Cons
Jobs have been cut because of the economy. Because of these cuts however, our service level has taken a toll.
Advice to Senior Management
We need to put our guests first. Serving them in a timely manner is the most important. We need to hire more employees!
Pros
Large well-known Company-- good for resume, internal hiring initiative, discounts, great health insurance, discoutned daycare, appealing work environment (telephones, computers facilities),
Cons
cliques and favoritism, can be "locked-in" by a position and hard to advance or do something different within the organization. Too concerned with physical appearances.
Advice to Senior Management
Consider that developing the talents of all of your employees, not just to favorites!
Pros
Opportunity to grow within the company, career advancement, provides meals during lunch breaks, great coworkers, and great for students looking to gain work experience.
Cons
Managers that do not consider the feedback from employees
Advice to Senior Management
Take more time to listen to employees about their concerns and/or requests
Pros
Great benefits and options available to all employees. Flexible work environment in most departments. Co workers are kind and happy.
Cons
Hard to get a job here. Lots of kool aid drinking required. Too many decisions made thousands of miles away without taking into account our organization. Senior management sometimes has Ivory Tower syndrome.
Advice to Senior Management
Please start acting on suggestions from your employees. Its great when you ask for our opinions, but if nothing happens, we simply get jaded and stop thinking about making the organization better.
Pros
They have a good benefits package and do a lot of good company sponsored community work that they encourage employees to participate in. Free computer and management training tools and a great online learning program. Excellent diversity training program.
Cons
Big problem is that upper and mid-level management does not always follow by the training and accepted behavior that they promote in theyre classes. Lower management salaries are very low and in a lot of cases lower than the employees they supervise.
Advice to Senior Management
Follow by the guidelines that you promote and pay more attention to the knowledge of line-level employees. If you want to be the best, sometimes you have to pay for it. Many talented employees will not advance to management because of lack of pay. This is not using your resources (employees) effectively.
Pros
medical and dental benefits are really good
Cons
not flexible with hours or schedule

Pros
MGM MIRAGE is a very large presence in Las Vegas, NV. Due to this they offer employees an excellent package of benefits including a full range of optional coverages in addition to top of the line basic benefits at an extremely reasonalbe cost to the employees.
Cons
Communication from Sr. management downward to the "average" troops is inadequate and far too limited. Studies have shown that feeling knowledgeable is one of the primary things in making for satisfied employees. Unfortnately, this is sorely lacking in many areas of MGM MIRAGE.
Advice to Senior Management
Make sure that information about how the company is doing and / or planning for both short and long term is effectively diseminated to the rand and file employees as well as managers and directors. This is even more critical during these uncertain economic times. There have been far too many cases of well qualified personnel leaving the company because they feared for their future. The right communication would have perhaps eliminated this concern.
