Pros
visibility on projects was great, way better than other comparable internships with other companies or similar size and with the industry
Cons
unpaid internship which is tough while you are an undergrad, but this is the industry norm so cannot be too upset
Advice to Senior Management
continue to seek out great talent and promote people with the skills, personality and ambition, not the people who take credit etc.
Pros
Easy to come in and leave work at work. Get good studio experience without big company feel.
Cons
Smaller company so there is less opportunity for growth.
Advice to Senior Management
Grow digital!
Pros
Located in Century City, it is close to great shopping and is easy to commute to. The employees are wonderful, friendly and supportive. Most importantly the library and archive is rich and legendary. It provides a comforting look back to Hollywood history.
Cons
MGM is struggling to exist and find it's place in modern day entertainment. Unfortunately, recently new content is very limited and hasn't been successful.
Advice to Senior Management
Please keep up the open communication on the future of the company. Do not sell off the library and archive, it's truly invaluable.
Pros
If you love classic films, this is the place to be. The studio owns the world's largest library of modern titles 4000+. Everyone is very professional - lots of suits.
Cons
Old corporate culture. It can feel a bit "stuffy" at times because most employees are men 40+. You feel like you're lost in a sea of suits. High turnover rate in senior management.
Advice to Senior Management
Studio needs to be more attentive to employee complaints about management. They need to invest more resources into retaining valuable employees.
