    Pros

Vision unclear, objectives muddled. Job instability and always under the 'lay off" cloud. There are some nice people there, who truly value customer service and quality care. It's just hard to find a place to work with those values in this company.

    Cons

Unrealistic expectations, lay off stress, unpredictable future, limited growth opportunities, little appreciation for a job well done, low pay

Develop a process for your SDLC efforts

    Pros

Great benefits and an awesome opportunity to establish wonderful relationships with some of the people.

    Cons

Management is horrible and lack leadership skills.

    Advice to Management

The organization should invest in their managment team by sending them to leadership trainings.

    Pros

It was a small office feel for a call center.

Most of the employees were good people and easy to get along with.

Employees helped each other out when needed.

    Mon-Fri only

    Good Vision plan

    Cons

Systems were EXTREMELY outdated and slow
Health insurance was a bit expensive
Training was tedious and stressful. Too much information not formatted correctly and confusing at times
    Trainer lacked expertise
    Lack of consistency in training
If you didn't understand the material or learn the multiple, confusing and outdated procedures, you were told the job is not for you.
LOTS of favoritism to employees from upper management
    EXTREMELY HIGH TURNOVER RATE
Relied on temps too much who made higher pay
Pay does not reflect all the work they expect you to do
    LOW MORALE
    Hard to get time off
Employees fearful of being fired or afraid of managers
Promotions MAY be available, but not worth it due to lack of ongoing training
Managers micromanage and care nothing for their employees
    Clinical team burnout
    Division between departments
    HR is NOT for employees

    Advice to Management

The company needs a MAJOR update to their computer systems and training for new & existing employees. Offer on going training classes or mentorship for employees. Treat employees equally. Managers also need need training on how to treat employees. Senior management would visit, but you wouldn't know it. They did not interact with or try to get to know their employees. HR was a joke. Not an advocate for the employee. There should be a better relationship between the service department and clinical team instead of fingerprinting on who does what. Healthnet really needs to invest more in this side of their business.

    Pros

Camaraderie - 'assistance from other co-workers'
    Mon - Fri hours
    No demand for over time
Aetna bought MHNet, Inc so the atmosphere may be changing for the better

    Cons

No advancement unless you 'click' with upper management.
Many employees treat this place like a 'hang out' - constant gossip, using personal electronic devices on 'company time'.

    Advice to Management

Treat employees equally. Mentoring and guiding employees brings out the best in everyone. Offer 'true training' for all employees

Overall experience was positive. Management in the NYC office was not perfect but good. Office closed in Sept 2013.

    Pros

Flexibility around scheduling and recognition by management. Management accessible to staff. Management appreciates good work. Lots of training and clinical rounds. Lots of learning opportunities.

    Cons

Procedures between different offices that are handled differently can create unnecessary problems. Not a lot of different career opportunities in NYC office but more opportunities exist in Texas and California. Company is owned by Healthnet and is headquartered in California.

    Pros

    Experience with a specialty benefit

    Cons

Organization has few in leadership that have experience outside of MHN therefore, they are ill equipped to handle a variety of challenges. Organization operates extremely small and does not invest in 21st Century technology.

    Advice to Management

Focus on forward thinking and do not discourage employees to have a voice. Morale is EXTREMELY low at the call center and the "leadership" team does not care, nor do they have the skill set to adequately manage. In two words, CLEAN HOUSE!
