Pros
Opportunity to learn many different technologies especially in customer facing development roles. Coworkers are for the most part very competent.
Cons
They appear to pay under industry and location standards. Overtime for show seems to be necessary to appear good to management.
Advice to Senior Management
Don't expect your workers to be grateful to have a job, if they were treated better perhaps your turnover would decrease.
Pros
Good product range, good geographic coverage, great markets
Cons
Terrible management, treated as cogs not contributors, like working for big brother
Advice to Senior Management
Retire
Pros
Insurance was good. Nice building.
Cons
No $$$$$$$ way below average pay
Advice to Senior Management
Listen! Open your eyes! Its time the CEO retires!
Pros
Very competitive pay, intelligent people to work with, number one in the world and a leader in the industries it serves, overall a pleasant experience
Cons
Recognition lacks for some exceptional performers, executive management is out of touch with many facets of the marketplace, politics plays too big a role in who gets promoted, thus providing a bit of the peter principle
Advice to Senior Management
Take heed of the items mentioned above, become, or get back to, being a sales focused, highly competitive company that produces great products on time and provides world class customer service
Pros
Fast paced, dynamic, good place to polish your skills.
Cons
Minimal employee recognition/respect, if you have family obligations to fulfill, you might have a tough time.
Pros
global exposure and big thinking
Cons
the upper management is the company everyone else is a number.
Advice to Senior Management
sf
Pros
Money, great co-workers. good good
Cons
long hours on-call, unappreciative managers
Advice to Senior Management
Appreciate good work.
Pros
You get a job and a pay check. Company head office is Columbia, MD, a good location close to DC and Baltimore.
Cons
CEO believes that a good company is bad for employees. Work hours is tough. Management is time oriented, not task oriented. Very high turn over ratio.
Advice to Senior Management
A good company is good for employees. Your employees are not your slaves or prisoners.
Pros
Good Co-Workers, make the work day enjoyable, most customers are very pleasent to work with and can be very entertaining.
Cons
The pay with Micros is very below average, unflexable work hours, required overtime on moments notice, poor time managment of staff by upper managment
Advice to Senior Management
Pay the employees what they are worth, allow more flexability as incentive to employees that work evenings and weekends and on call rotations.
Pros
MICROS Systems offers health, dental, paid time off, 401k...all the bells and whistles that you would expect from a company of this size. There is unlimited growth potential with this company and the company continues to grow each year.
Cons
Interoffice politics play an important role in any office settings but especially at MICROS Systems. You must be comfortable playing the corporate game at this company. Senior management is excellant and very supportive. Mid-level management at the corporate headquarters can be difficult to work with at times.
Advice to Senior Management
The mid-management at the corporate headquarters could improve their attitude and professionalism when dealing with the satellite offices. The senior management always makes the satellite offices feel appreciated and valuable and I would like to see mid-management do the same.
