    Pros

I joined MiQ when co-founders just started up the company. All of them are intelligent and efficiency. Things are to be done quickly and great opportunity to learn.

    Cons

Start up work is always stressful. Long working hours and urgent task may require additional working hours after going back to home.

    Advice to Management

Now MiQ is expanding quickly and amazingly. The company will succeed if managers and employees keep staying together and keep contributing.

    Pros

Global company - Room for advancement (for the right people) - Forward thinking - Focused company growth - Decent benefits (insurance, 401K, company picnics/events, appreciation events). Promote from within. Published core values and guiding principles, vision, mission. Great office environment, clean and somewhat new and fresh. Friendly people and team work. Also participate in the annual Kansas City Corporate Challenge. Very competitive and have had much success in the events.
Too be honest, I have been with the company many years and overall I am very happy here.

    Cons

Lack of accountability - especially many of the managers. Too many of the managers fail to follow-up and also fail to hold "certain" employees accountable (Apparent favoritism). One specific manager spends entirely too much time "in the weeds" and not enough time managing the department and is often unavailable.
Even though they have published Core values, etc. there are too many times that even members of the management team may not always "practice what they preach."

Some of the managers have a reputation for rehiring employees who have left and then giving them more money to return, rather than keep in the first place. This has a somewhat negative impact on employees who have been loyal and have remained.

    Advice to Management

Walk the walk, talk the talk. Hold all managers accountable. Provide goals and performance appraisals in a timely manner. Get on the floor more often and engage with the staff.

    Pros

MIQ is a flat organization and very entrepreneurial. The sales commissions are uncapped, so if you work hard the pay can be very lucrative. Not everyone succeeds in that type of work environment. The benefits are good and if you want to grow in your career the management is very helpful. The leadership has high integrity and I am able to stand behind what I sell, which is very important to me. I think work-life balance for sales is outstanding.

    Cons

Not every office has a great team, there are lots of bright spots around the country, but like any large organization there are weak links. The nature of a logistics company is sometimes you have to control costs, and not all levels of employees are compensated at the highest levels.

    Advice to Management

Try to incentivize the operations team more, give them more of an equity share in what they do, to help motivate performance.

    Pros

The environment here is great. Everyone is friendly and helpful. I have been working here for a little over 6 months now and I'm still learning new things all of the time.

    Cons

Since you are working in relation with customs, you dont have many holidays off.

    Advice to Management

Hire more direct instead of temp work.

    Pros

Salary and benefits are decent. Financial backing from their venture capital firm is solid and invests well into the company. We will have to see how long this will last.

    Cons

Horrible working environment in the Gardena office. Everyone gossips on each other and it is freely accepted in this office. Management is only concerned about themselves and has no respect for sales people. They are only interested in your database of customers that you add in CRM. The venture capital firm will eventually be flip this company to make a profit.

    Advice to Management

Human Resources needs to step in and stop the gossiping in their offices. It brings down morale and harbors a very hostile working environment.

    Pros

Immediate supervisor was very lenient, supportive and available when assistance for employees was needed.

    Cons

Extremely low pay for related field. Majority of coworkers exhibit rampant laziness, executing at most the bare minimum productivity relative to their position. Employees typically fail to take into consideration those working shift prior/after theirs; coordinated teamwork and directed contribution are nearly nonexistent. Upper management is for the most part disconnected from the lower echelon areas of operation. Ridiculous degree of turnover, with management's failure to address the causes for such; solutions involve primarily hiring temps to cover gaps in shifts which further tenders disorganization and inability for effective operation.

    Advice to Management

Take serious consideration into reevaluating your business model. Structures that corrode at the base and left unaddressed greatly diminish future prospects and longevity.
