    Pros

Great intellectual community, fast-paced atmosphere, a lot of learning constantly. Freedom to choose from course work and grading style.

    Cons

It can get a little stressful as everyone around you tries to be hard core. People are competitive which makes it a bit unusual. Even when trying to find a job its difficult as you are competing with other students from MIT.

    Advice to Management

Give better access to mental health. Make MIT more cheerful by making the campus more playful and colorful. Have some fun courses into the schedule which are not related to engineering.

    Pros

You get to work with the smartest people on the planet who are become your close friends and family. The projects are amazing and you get a decent amount of freedom to do whatever you like. MIT covers your tuition and the networking really helps advance your career in the future. Definitely this is the place to be if you are wanting to accomplish something big.

    Cons

Nothing major worth mentioning. I love my lab!

    Advice to Management

It would be nice if the salaries could be raised a bit to reflect the expensive nature of living in Boston.

    Pros

MIT is full of extremely brilliant and hard-working people. In my time there, the people I met never ceased to amaze me. The professors are world-renowned, the students driven and motivated to succeed, and the environment is very intellectually stimulating.

    Cons

The facilities were not all at the caliber one would expect from a top-ranked school. Some areas were amazing, some forgotten. The basement labs in some buildings suffered heating/cooling and ventilation issues, a general lack of maintenance, and even occasional minor flooding (couple of inches of water). As a graduate student, these unnecessary events were a distraction and a waste of time.

    Advice to Management

Although not as exciting as a ribbon-cutting event for a new building, maintaining and renovating some of the older parts of campus should be made a priority. Some programs and students suffer unfairly due to arbitrarily being in the wrong place on campus.
