    Pros

The company aloud you to make decisions, and helped you to develop the needed relationship with the customer.

    Cons

    It was an overseas contract.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

They should frequent the work sites more often.

I worked at MPRI full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

disconnect of home office with site.

    Cons

Will cut benifits to win a Contract, then losse top Technical in spite of needing them. Loss of Contract, and no thought of transfer employees to other work site.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Know the difference between instructors and IT, vast difference.

MPRI is a government security meat market that doesn't know IT.

I worked at MPRI full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Some of the management was good.

    Cons

Undervalued IT / technology employees and what they brought to the table. Mostly a follow-on employer for prior service security types.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be outward looking - pay attention to the industry type you're supposed to be providing the customer. Don't be a meat market.

I worked at MPRI full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Ability to train future leaders. Not a cubicle job. Ability to work with other current and former Officers and Senior NCOs.

    Cons

Long hours are expected without additional pay. Military job without the military benefits. When CommTek, who had the contract before MPRI, lost the contract, MPRI slashed all salaries overnight. I lost $12,000/year. I know of others who lost more. Their response - if you don't like it, then leave. Great attitude (insert sarcasm here).

I have been working at MPRI

    Pros

    Good transition from the military.

    Cons

Long hours, deployed in summer, low pay.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Re-negotiate the contact or the pool of military instructors will be watered down.

I have been working at MPRI

    Pros

Because of the profusion of former military members here, it has a comfortable feel.

    Cons

Some of the program managers are quite inflexible

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Most of are former GIs, but none of us are in the military anymore!

I have been working at MPRI

    Pros

MPRI has leadership at headquarters that are extremely knowledgeable. The benefits are not bad and the salary is fairly reasonable.

    Cons

While company leadership is good, direct management leaves something to be desired. There tends to be a good ole boy culture. In my opinion promotions tend to be made based on age and sex, rather than performance.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Promote based on performance and success will follow. The age and sex of a person does not mean they can be a good leader or a good performer.

I have been working at MPRI

    Pros

    Employment locations
    Employee Stock Purchase Program
    Vacation time

    Cons

Run like a military organization - individuals still utilize their military pay grade on correspondence
If you wear not a Field Grade Officer in the military you can forget about promotion above program manager - unless your mother/father were/are General Grade Officer
    Diversity not appreciated

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Clean house - get rid of the military mentality and run the company like a business.
