I have been working at MPW

    Pros

The company culture is fun. People are friendly and will be willing to help with questions you may have. Company has been and will be growing/expanding, and so will have a pretty good number of career opportunities.

    Cons

Below-average compensations and benefits. Promotions from within is very limited and slow.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Most employees feel underpaid and undervalued.

I worked at MPW full-time for more than a year

    Pros

If you live out by Hebron, OH, it is one of few local employment options. The commute is appealing for some and probably is a reason why people stay here - because they don't want to travel farther for work.

    Cons

    - Below market compensation
    - Erratic and self-centered owner
    - lack of job security
    - harsh foul language from management
    - light levels of sexual harassment - in appropriate and uncomfortable comments and touching from director level managers and owner
    - Constant internal stories/rumors about 1) job sites not being managed safely - lacking the correct safety equipment, 2) illegal disposal of chemicals, and 3) illnesses contracted on job sites not quarantined (based on my experience, these claims seemed very plausible)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Decide that how you treat people is important, it's your legacy. Decide you want to be better and get help from management trainers, attend seminars and read leadership books.

  3.

High turnover at this company is due to management's philosophy of taking care of themselves before employees.

    I worked at MPW

    Pros

Many departments are growing and evolving which causes opportunities for people who want to get involved.

    Cons

Lack of management support. Selfish and irrational decisions made by managers that are not based on individual performance but perceived performance based on gossip.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Philosophy is set at the top. Management is setting the tone. You should make sure it is a tone that people want to follow.

    Pros

    Cons

I did a lot of bending over and kneeling. We had to wipe down and label at least 100 totes per day for shipping.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

They should be honest and be someone employees can talk to when there is a problem.

Former Employee - Safety Supervisor in Rockport, IN

    I worked at MPW

    Pros

The general office staff were usually quite pleasing to be around. The employment offer was close to granting all demand pre-hire.

    Cons

Scheduling is very secretive. Salaried employees are extremely taken advantage of. Employee disciplinary actions are decided on a personal basis by the local manager regardless of what SOPs state.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Leadership opportunities should be based on education and experience instead of giving the owners family and friends offices and departments to run.

I have been working at MPW

    Pros

There are very few reasons yet to work at MPW other than the very desparate need for a temporary paycheck.

    Cons

There many reasons to not work for a company like MPW, and they seem to be able to invent new reasons almost daily.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Fire the pretentious COO cheerleader, and replace all family members with professionals.
