I have been working at MRI Software full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Excellent benefits (company pays 90% of medical deductible!), fair compensation with tremendous ability to earn well above projected comp, and new office space that would rival ANY software company.

Since the acquisition by Vista Equity Partners 3 years ago, MRI Software has transformed its product set with 6 new products in 2012, but the culture has continued to focus on the customer and adding value.

MRI is one of the few enterprise software organizations offering opportunities for early entry sales people and software developers. The company then provides a 14 week training program at their corporate office....that's a commitment to people! In addition, the senior leadership team embraces ideas from the tenured hires that have joined MRI.

    Cons

Nothings perfect - internally departments have competing priorities/goals. We need to work together to ensure customers are not only happy with our products and services, but willing to recommend MRI Software to their peers.
The organization is focused on enterprise business - all too often we are "too robust" (ie expensive) for a smaller/start up property management firm. These missed opportunities can be very profitable clients and grow along side us.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stay focused on the growth plan and keep asking questions to understand what is inhibiting net new growth. Make the next acquisition a low(er) cost alternative to our robust accounting systems to attract smaller companies and further grow revenues.

I have been working at MRI Software full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    Co-workers are very friendly
HR works hard to keep employees happy
    Fair amount of PTO

    Cons

No flexibility in schedule as described
Job responsibility does not match description
No room for growth and development
Management makes generic statements without addressing issue
    Poor compensation

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Follow through on promises made, and do not shy away from having to deliver the bad news. It would be better to know the situation up front as opposed to slowly loosing hope as you realize it will never come true.

I worked at MRI Software full-time

    Pros

If you like to work long hours for low pay, this is the place for you. The east-side suburban location is OK, unless you are a west-sider.

    Cons

You will have to work long hours for low pay. The "leadership team" is a bit of a misnomer. The parent company, Vista Equity partners, seems to be making all of the decisions, as they have done with all of their other acquisitions.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Advice would be meaningless.

I have been working at MRI Software full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Provide job opportunities to fresh college grads.
    Relaxed Environment
    Co-workers

    Cons

Lazy management. The job security stress, pay and management politics is ridiculous. The company is surviving on recurring revenue but when it comes to new sales the company is in the toilet. Veterans who have the product knowledge are getting unfair treatment from the middle management, leaving them no choice but to leave the company. Not all veterans deserve the respect but there are few which shouldn't have left the company, creating void.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

For middle managers lead by example and treat your employees with respect.
